We have been using those SDKs since they became available.
Our particular app (Amazing Slow Downer) lets the user play music more slowly, since a couple of years ago also songs from Spotify. The "ios-streaming-sdk" is a beautifully designed framework that lets an audio developer do practically everything needed.
In our case it makes it possible to access the raw audio samples and this way process the sound and then playback the processed audio using our regular audio playback engine. With your new SDK this is not possible. It might be that the "ios-streaming-sdk" is more difficult to use for an average developer but that also makes it more powerful.
We have many users that uses Spotify. Many users switch from other streaming services such as "Apple Music", Tidal, Amazon Music etc to Spotify just to be able to slow down streaming music in real time.
We believe our app gives Spotify many many new subscribers, so many that it would actually pay off for Spotify to maintain the "ios-streaming-sdk".
We only use "playlist" functions and after fixing a couple of bugs in the "metadata framework" available on github, everything works 100%. Although there are certainly some bugs in the “ios-streaming-sdk”, they are very few and don’t affect our app.
We also have an Android version of our app that uses your Android streaming SDK and it also works very good.
We believe Spotify will loose thousands of users, so many that the minimal cost Spotify need to spend on maintenance will pay off manifold.
Since our app also supports playback and slowing down of streaming Apple Music, many of our users will probably switch from subscribing to Spotify to subscribing to Apple Music.
You write:
"After September 1st, important functionality in the streaming SDKs will stop working."
Exactly what does that mean? What part of the SDK will continue to work?
Please continue supporting iOS/Android streaming SDKs!

Please continue to allow us to use Spotify in Amazing slower downer. Otherwise,
I will have to switch to Apple Music as of September 1
I use it regularly with my students
The main reason why I subscribe to Spotify is being able to listen and playing along with recordings using ASD.
As I’m a musician and brass instrument teacher I recommend all 30 of my students and all 50 students in the windband to get a Spotify account.
If you don’t keep the SDK feature working I will immediately advice everyone of them (as well as my family) to switch services.
I know I speak for a lot of musicians and students - please keep supporting the important SDK for all of us!
I would cancel my premium account if Spotify is no longer compatible with this app. It has been essential to my development as a musician. If I can't use it, there is no reason why I need Spotify.
I’m a jazz musician who recently graduated with a degree in performance, and this SDK is invaluable. Combined use of Spotify and Amazing Slow Downer has been almost ubiquitous in my classrooms, and both professors and students constantly use it as a teaching and learning tool. Please continue supporting this SDK, as it is of vital importance to music education.
.........and when you try to 'like' too many good posts , complaining about withdrawal os Amazing Slow Downer support.....it stops you.
I have been on spotiy premium for over 5 years. It was also for use on the asd app. I am very disappointed with this change in spotify. I would like to withdraw.
Another music teacher here. I subscribed to Spotify 4 years ago so that I could slow down music using the Amazing Slow Downer App. I have amassed large playlists and I’m a distraught that Spotify would get rid of the slow down functionality for third-party applications. It is overwhelming to have to migrate to Apple Music but I will do what I have to do. Please reconsider, Spotify.
Please reconsider the decision to remove the ability to use the Amazing Slow Downer app with Spotify playlists. It’s an amazing tool that is used by myself in a daily basis to learn songs in my career.
i have recommended Spotify to many other musicians because of the ability to use this app with the playlists. There is a lot of angst from musicians towards Spotify and removing this ability to use the app is a poor idea that will hurt more musicians even further.
Please keep this function. It is vital for learning my instrument and the main reason for my Spotify subscription. Thanks.
My main reason for using spotify is to use features like for my music practice routine. People at Spotify: make sure apps like ASD still work with your app. If this stops working I’m seriously considering to take my music listening back to buying music via itunes and importing audio from physical cds again. I’ve been using spotify since 2008, but with poor development decisions like these I’m afraid that’s the way it will have to be.
I fully agree with what others have stated in this thread. I am a musician, and The Amazing Slow Downer is a critical part of my workflow. One of the reasons I chose Spotify is now well it works with ASD.
Please reconsider keeping the needed SDK active so ASD continues to work with Spotify, or many musicians, including myself, will need to look elsewhere for a fully functional streaming service.
I am a musician, and The Amazing Slow Downer is a critical part of my workflow. One of the reasons I chose Spotify is how well it works with ASD.
Please reconsider keeping the SDK active to support ASD integration, or I will need to switch to a different streaming service.
I've recently switched to Spotify. One of the main reasons was that Amazing Slow Downer can connect to it. That's a huge advantage for me as a professional guitarplayer. I can study songs and/or make transcriptions.
Please reconsider your decision and continue supporting Amazing Slow Downer and it's functionality.
I use Amazing Slow Downer with Spotify to practise. I have a lot of loops setup that I use to practise parts of songs at a slower pace. It will be a nightmare if I loose this.
Please reconsider this and let ASD use Spotify songs. Otherwise I have to switch to Apple Music...
Hi, pleas
I'm a user of this app and it's very helpful to learn an instrument (in my case the bass) and play along songs from my Spotify playlist and change the pitch and the speed.
Please, reconsider keeping this SDK and keep ASD working!
Please don't take this away from us!
It is a big part of my practice being able to transcribe songs. The ability to slow down or change the pitch of songs it's a gift for all musicians.
The main reason I subscribe to Spotify and not a competitor is because I can use it with Amazing Slow Downer. This is a substantial benefit to musicians, particularly musicians that are not professionals, which is most of them. If Spotify follows through and terminates its use with ASD I will absolutely look for alternatives to Spotify. The downside of ASD to Spotify escapes me.
I’ve been a Spotify premium member for 10+ years and use ASD to help conduct my lessons. Please don’t pull this support. It’s has been invaluable for learning and teaching.

My Question or Issue
Our band of amateur musicians uses the Amazing Slowdowner App (AMD) with Spotify. We have been informed that on 9/1/22 this will no longer be possible. Many of your users rely on Slow Downer technology in the AMD app and many other Apps. We ask that you continue to allow the AMD to work with your service.
Thank you!
