Smart Shuffel for API

Hello everyone,

I’m building a custom Spotify API integration together with my AI assistant (including a web widget) to control playback, sort playlists, and track mood/context.

Regular Shuffle works fine via the Web API, but we can’t enable Smart Shuffle (the one available in the official Spotify app).

Is Smart Shuffle currently available through the Spotify API, or are there any plans to support it?

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community and Welcome!

Creating an AI assistant is definitely an exciting idea. However, please note that developing a voice-enabled SDA is not permitted under the Spotify Developer Policy.

Regarding your other question: it’s currently not possible to enable Smart Shuffle through the Spotify Web API.

Hi, just to clarify: I’m not building an AI assistant to directly control Spotify by voice.
This is a personal UI widget inside the interface where I chat with my assistant.
It mainly helps me organize playback and collect data from my listening history and other personal signals, so I can generate private insights and analysis for myself.

So this is a self-hosted, personal-use dashboard — not a public AI voice control product.
