My Question or Issue
I am looking at creating a website for sharing playlist and podcast exclusively for spotify. Looking over the legal terms and what is allowed I had a couple questions before continuing here, or moving to another streaming service if this might not be the place to make it.
1. People will be able to search and share playlist around certain genres, as well as podcast that might gear towards those. Is my understanding correct that I cannot manipulate the playlist gotten from Spotify itself? Such as if I wanted to have my app create a spotify playlist, when I show the playlist and tracks, it can only be through the Spotify webplayer(WebPlayback or iFrame)? Or can I make a variation of my own on the website following the metadate, cover art and display rules?
2. I have a couple cool ideas for some apps and sharing music with people and finding music from people, since I am making it, is spotify able to consider a commercial license at some point? Or does that not happen? Or are they able to just take the idea and add it to spotify for themselves without any compensation?
3. Would I be able to do something such as a user, who we will refer to as the 'requester', ask a question and other users can go through these questions and add songs to a playlist for the 'requester' to add to their own?
4. Can I store the metadata for tracks, playlist, podcast in its original format, in my database to reduce the amount of request to the spotify API? If so I would set a updated_timestamp to make sure and pull old information after a certain time period.
5. Is there a way to contact spotify directly to go over this?
