Adding a member to my duo account who already has an spotify account

Hi all, 

I would like to purchase a duo account and add my dad to it. He already has an unpaid account. If I add him to my account, will his current account info transfer over?

Hey @StefJV 

Yes, he won't lose any playlists, friends, or his music library, as long as he keeps using the same username he's been using. Those are independent from subscription status.

The account that pays (you in this case), links the other account to the plan through the Spotify website.

After that, each of you will be able to listen to music at the same time, have different playlists, library and friends.

Yes, as long as your dad accepts and joins the Premium Duo plan at the same physical address as you during signup, he’ll be added as a member of your plan. He’ll still have access to his own Spotify account, the difference is that you’ll be paying one low price for two members (you and him). 

When he accepts and joins the plan, all content will remain on his account - so no need to worry about him losing anything when he joins your plan. There’s more information about how Premium Duo works here.
