My Question or Issue

After reinstallation of the app (after resetting my phone to factory settngs), I am getting ads when listening to podcasts. Before reinstall I did not have any ads. Howcome? The rest of my family (withing the same Plan) does not get ads.

Spotify doesn’t play ads that interrupt the music listening experience, however, some podcasts may include advertising, host-read endorsements, or sponsorship messages. There’s more info about this here.

I know. Thx for your response. But I went to Portugal on holidays, and
there the Ads were in Portuguese. Since it is a Dutch podcast, I am almost
sure it is not the podcast-ad, but it it the Spotify-ad.

This is a screenshot of today. It says my podcast will continue after the
break.

And it shows a seperate progress bar of 8 secs in total.

Thanks for the screenshot. I can confirm that this is expected as some podcasts do include advertising and that has been the case since the early days of podcasts. I’m having the same problem since the beginning of this week, i started having ads after the podcast ended and went onto the next one even though i have a basic family plan… this podcast doesn’t upload anymore so its weird

Great, I am not he only one! Now also my daughter has ads between her
podcast tracks. She listened the podcast for about 30 shows without having
ads, and last week it started. And I do believe it is a Spotify thing,
because of tho reasons:
- I went on Holiday to Portugal, and got portuguese ads. If ads were
incorporated in the podcast, it would have been in Dutch (which is my
native languageand the language of the podcast
- I clearly see another, shorter time frame counter at the bottom of my
screen, which tells me it is a seperate audio track, and not eeited into
the podcast.

Now I get a short anouncement before the ads. I says "short commercial
intervention". And there is a clear distinction between in-podcast-ads and
those I am complaining about. I can tel the difference myself.
