I want to try the free trial before it ends but my card is declined when the trial is free

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I would recommend reaching out to your payment provider to ensure that your card is active and is ready to be used on Spotify. they can take a closer look and see why the payment method verification is failing.

 

You can also try subscribing to Premium using a different browser or private window and let me know how that goes. Keep in mind that you will need a valid payment method to continue with the trial, because Spotify will verify that the payment method works in case you continue to use Premium after your trial period ends.

Hi same thing happened to me and my back said it denied the payment because my balance was too low. My card is on and working and from what I understand it’s a free trial so I’m not sure why my balance would affect anything.

Thanks for the post. Sometimes, banks will flag an account where small temporary authorization charges are being made (because the transaction amount is very small). You may have to contact your bank to ensure that your account is fully ready to accept payments. Once you’re ready, you can subscribe to Premium using the link I provided in my first reply using a different browser or private window.
