My Question or Issue

Today (April 2, 2026), I changed my subscription from Premium Individual to Basic Individual because I don't want to pay $2 extra for a feature I don't use or access to Hulu. I checked my bank account right after, and even though my billing date isn't until the 7th of every month, I was charged $1.01. I previously have not missed any payments and my plan is changing to be LESS money per month, not more. I have seen nothing in the other Spotify FAQs about this. Why was I charged? There was no pop up, no email, no notice that I was going to be charged.

Spotify charges for Premium once per month, per account. Can you let me know if the charges show as Pending or have they been posted?

 

You can also check your Receipts page to see if you find a similar charge to what was charged to your bank account. If you don't, I'd recommend reaching out to your financial institution as they may have more information.
