Gift Card Help to Purchase Premium

I just created a Spotify account but have yet to purchase any premium accounts. I am currently a student, so I am eligible for the student discount of $4.99/month for the first 12 months. Additionally, I see that there is currently a deal for $0.99/month for the first three months. Finally, I have $70 in Spotify giftcards which I would like to use.

Therefore, how would I set up my premium account, for the first time, to enable me to use the gift cards, get the $0.99/month for the first three months, and then when that ends, lock me into the $4.99/month for the next 12 months since I am a student? Overall, this would cost ~$60, which is below the amount of money I have available on my gift cards.

If someone could please advise me if I am able to get both deals-- the reduced rate for the first three months and then the student discount for the following 12 months-- and how I would use my giftcards to make these purchases that would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, not all payment methods are available when subscribing for a Spotify Premium with Student discount. Therefore, Gift Cards are not accepted.

@imattolo, can I use the gift card to purchase the premium account at the $0.99/month for the first three months?

And, if I do this, will I still be eligible for the student discount after the first three months end?

Hello @msshap, 

I'm sorry but you can't use your Gift Card balance to pay Spotify Premium at any discounted price: only full price as written on the Spotify Gift Cards Terms and Conditions.

By the way, you will be able to apply for a Student Discount in case you decide to use it in the future, provided you will still be a university student.
