How to remove podcasts from my apps?

Solved!

How to remove podcasts from my apps?

My apps on Windows 11 and on Android 14 show various podcasts as well as music titles. I subscribed to a few of the podcasts but have since found a podcast player I like more. How can I remove the podcast listings shown on my app screens? I can't even find the "following" button discussed in the help file.
Windows app version: Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.31.1205.g4d59ad7c
Android app version: can't find

Hey @OneDave1,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

The more you listen to different content including podcasts, the better recommendations you'll see in the app and on the Start Screen.

Currently, it's not possible to customize the Start Screen of the app so you can remove the podcasts you see there, but there's other users that would like to be able to do so. There's an idea here that you can check out and vote for it in order to show your support.

Even though its current status is “Not Right Now”, the more votes an idea gets, the likelier it is that Spotify will implement it, and you can read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here. You can even Subscribe to the idea by clicking the three dots next to its title. That way, you can be sure to be informed of any relevant updates.

We're here if there's anything else you need help with 🙂

Fix this or I am going to cancel my subscription.

Accept as Solution required me to log in.  Okay now.

What would happen if I deleted my account and started a new one?  Would that eliminate the podcasts that are in my current account?  Is there a way to do this that is less destructive?

Hi @OneDave1,

What you can do is unfollow any podcasts you might be following, if you haven't already - you'll find them in Your Library > Podcasts & Shows.

If you were to create a new account, you'd basically reset your taste profile and start from scratch. Note that podcast content will still be available in the app, so the best way to reduce the amount of podcast recommendations you receive would be to continue playing the music you enjoy and the app's suggestions will be adjusted accordingly.

@kotw, could you provide a bit more info on what's happening on your end so we can have a closer look?

Cheers 🙂
