I can't figure out why spotify is trying to charge me extra payment

I can't figure out why spotify is trying to charge me extra payment

Hello everyone! May I ask for your help?

Every month I pay $ 2.49 for a student subscription, I have been using and paying for almost two years now. But this month, Spotify is trying to charge me 13,790KZT (almost 30$) for a subscription and sends a notification that it cannot receive my payment. Can you please tell me why Spotify is trying to deduct this money from me if I always pay $2.49 every month and I have already paid for all the months I used? I can’t understand the reason of that charge.

I actually do have all the receipts from my account on website.
Looking forward to your reply as soon as possible!  Thank you in advance!

Hey @Anel16,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. We moved your post from Chats to the help boards as its content fits better here.

The Premium Student is a discounted subscription that needs to be renewed every 12 months. If the app is trying to charge you a different amount, it's possible that the discount has expired. We'd recommend taking a look at this article to check out how to renew your discount.

If you have already renewed it, it's possible that is wasn't activated correctly from the confirmation email. In this case, we'd suggest looking for the confirmation email in your inbox and spam folders and clicking the option "Activate discount" to see if it makes any difference.

However, in case that the issue persists, it's possible that the plan was changed or a different subscription was created by mistake by someone using your payment details. In this case, since we cannot access users' accounts from the Community, we'd recommend contacting our Customer support directly so they can check the account and help you further.

Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.
