Missing features in Pakistan

Solved!

Missing features in Pakistan

Just got Spotify Premium in Pakistan and here is a list of the features that are missing in the app (Android):

1. No podcasts: The podcast section is simply missing in the app.

2. No lyrics: You can not swipe up on a playing song at all, so there is no lyrics card or artist message card.

3. No Artist feeds: On the home page, right next to the settings icon, the thunderbolt icon which takes you to the artist feed page is missing.

Would really appreciate if Spotify Pakistan could provide a timeline on the missing features. Great to have you here!

I'm sorry to say but this isn't really a solution

11 December 2022 , Podcast feature still isn't available in Pakistan, Spotify please do something it's been 2 years or so since Spotify first launched in Pakistan...

Still no podcasts 😔

I have paying for the subscription for a year, and podcasts are still missing. I waited for so long to see if you solve the problem. Guess I have to adopt the VPN way. The problem with this is I'll get recommendations that I don't want, I wonder why you are slowing things down with this. With podcast and other features, Pakistan could be one the biggest market.

PODCASTS still missing…

Few good music are greyed out(NOT AVAILABLE) in Pakistan..

Disappointment.

Podcasts still not available in Pakistan  - please add Spotify!!!

Dear Spotify Team,

Waiting for podcast options to be available in Pakistan.

!!!!

Still waiting for Spotify to allow access to podcasts in Pakistan.... It's 2023 and this is a really basic feature guys....

Please like please add the podcast and audiobook option for the pakistani people... its 2024 and we still don't have these two why should I get premium if the only benefit I can get from is ad free music... this is such a scam we have been hearing that podcasts and audio books will be added soon from I don't know how Freaking long.. kindly fix it... i mean do you think that only people other than Pakistanis love reading and listening to podcasts no we love it to kindly update your useless app.. iam not gonna pay for only ad free music

it’s 2024.. of april. still no damn podcasts. why??? it has been 2 years since we got LYRICS. and we still do not have podcasts, it’s even worse for people who pay for the app.

Well, waiting for these features. Any updates?

Pakistan market has already grown, new features should be released to give it a boost.

It's May of 2024, and yet we haven't received Podcast and Canvas in Pakistan? Why Spotify why? Should we start cancelling our subscriptions?

We need podcasts on spotify pakistan, we would love to pay for that.

2024, podcasts in Pakistan when?

Podcasts, Canvas, when? I think Spotify is looting Pakistanis now, just like or politicians. They do not even have a tentative date for the arrival of this feature in Pakistan.

Few years later
These features still remain unavailable.

Hi, I've been using Spotify premium for 4 months now and i thought that these features were only for premium users but turns out these features are not even available in my country and these features have been released like long time ago and im still waiting for them.

My Question or Issue

Its been some time now, I'm not able to listen and even view podcast in my app. Even now the app doesnt even show me an option for podcast

.

The curious case of missing Podcast feature which has been queried since ages deserves an answer from Spotify to give reason for not having this feature in Pakistan? There must be an answer and a wayforward for this issue.

Dear Spotify Team,

As a long-time Spotify Premium subscriber from Pakistan, I’m writing to express deep frustration and disappointment on behalf of countless users in my country. It’s now May 14, 2025, and Spotify has been officially operating in Pakistan for over four years — yet the podcast feature is still unavailable to us.

Despite paying for a service that is meant to provide full access, we are deprived of core features such as:

  • Podcasts, including globally loved shows like The Joe Rogan Experience

  • Artist Feeds

  • (Previously) Lyrics, though thankfully now partially available

This has been raised repeatedly on the Spotify Community forums, dating as far back as early 2021, and dozens of users have voiced the same concern — only to be met with vague responses, empty timelines, or no concrete updates.

Let’s be honest: This is not just a delay, this is neglect.

Spotify touts itself as a global platform that values inclusivity, access, and user experience. Yet Pakistani users are being treated like second-tier customers. If the problem is licensing or technical implementation, why isn’t this being communicated transparently? If it’s a business decision, why are we still being charged full price for an incomplete product?

We’re tired of waiting. Here are our urgent demands and recommendations:

  1. Activate Podcasts for Pakistan immediately, or provide an exact timeline with a public roadmap.

  2. If regional licensing is the issue, offer Premium+ plans with podcast access at a higher rate — many of us are willing to pay more.

  3. At the very least, allow us access via VPN until a local rollout happens.

  4. Start treating the Pakistani user base with respect — we are tech-savvy, global, and loyal. Ignoring us will only push people toward cracked apps, alternative platforms, or canceling Premium altogether.

You’ve had ample time. We’ve shown patience. Now we expect action.

Please escalate this to your product and regional operations teams. We want Spotify to thrive in Pakistan, but it cannot do so while excluding core features.

Sincerely,
A loyal but disheartened Premium user from Pakistan 🇵🇰
(On behalf of thousands who feel the same)
