Hello, I want to switch to using yearly Spotify premium gift card and want to remove my card details, is that possible? So I won't be a monthly user just go through the yearly option as it's alot cheaper and saves me money.
If I was to purchase and redeem my gift card, how would I remove the card payment details? I just want to go down the gift card route.
Thanks

Hey again, @M4J,
To redeem your Gift Card while on a Basic plan, you’ll first need to cancel your current subscription and let the account revert to free. This will allow you to redeem the Gift Card.
Just a quick note: Spotify Gift Cards can only be redeemed for the Premium Individual plan, and you won’t be able to get a Basic plan again if you switch to a different plan or cancel your subscription. Just something to keep in mind as you make the switch.
I hope this clears things up 🙂
Hey @M4J,
Thanks for reaching out.
To remove the recurring payment method from your account, you'll first need to cancel your current subcription and wait for it to end.
Once it has ended and your account has reverted to Free, there's no longer a recurring payment method saved for your account.
I hope this clears things up 🙂
Hi thanks for your reply, once I cancel the payment plan I would like to add a spotify gift card which cost £99 for the year, so it would keep my premium going for another year. My question is, is it possible to add this gift card while I'm still on a plan or do I have to wait till it ends?
Hey @M4J,
Thanks for getting back.
If you really want to have your payment method removed first, you'll definitely need to wait until your current subscription ends. Otherwise, it'll stay on your sccount to be used after the Gift Card time is used up.
If that doesn't matter to you and you're currently on Premium Individual, you can redeem it at https://spotify.com/redeem 🙂
Hope this helps.
Ok so currently I'm on the basic premium plan that is without audio books, costs me £10.99 a month, so if I was to purchase a gift card and redeem it for the year, I won't be charged until the gift card has completed it's year? Is that correct? If so then I don't see the need to cancel my plan and wait, I can just redeem the gift card before my next billing date?
Hey @M4J,
I'll get this looked into and will get back to you as soon as I hear back 🙂

WHY CANT I PAY 6 or 12 MONTHS instead of the 1 month which is a problem
Hey @Enobong,
Welcome to the thread!
If the option to pay for 6 or 12 months is available in your region, you should be able to see it directly from our web page https://www.spotify.com/premium/. You'd see One-time payment under the subscription plan.
In case you're trying to pay for 6 or 12 months, but you're having difficulties doing so, it'd be very helpful if you could give us some more details, as well as share if you've done any troubleshooting so we can decide what to suggest next. For example if you've tested on multiple devices and with different internet connection.
We'll be on the lookout 🙂
