Payment Privacy Concern

Payment Privacy Concern

I changed some stuff with my bank  about 4 months ago and ended up getting a new debit card with a different number. I took the old card off my account, but didn't put the new one on (I guess I forgot). I received several emails stating that my subscription would be canceled due to a payment problem, and then they stopped coming, yet I noticed I still had Premium. After checking my account, I figured out that somehow, after about 3 months of my account being cardless, Spotify was able to obtain and enter the number of my new card and start charging me again. Not only is this a total invasion of privacy, it has me seriously concerned about potential vulnerability for hacking. How on earth was this possible?

Hey there @firebuff101,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community!

Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread.

This doesn't sound right and we'll recommend reaching out to your bank for more info on this.

It might also be a good idea to check with our support team here. They would be able to take closer look at the charges.

Hope this info helps. We'll be here if you need help with anything else.
