According to the official Spotify twitter support (@SpotifyCares),

If you sign up for Spotify Yearly, your year of Premium service will begin at the end of your current paid month. When your year of Premium service is over, your account will revert back to your current monthly subscription.

So, I do not belive you will need to delete your current premium subscription before/after signing up for the yearly ptomotion.

I have a monthly subscription how can I get it to be yearly subscription so I can pay only once a year and not worry about it again? FYI: I'm in Portugal.

You can get 12 months of Premium Individual with a one time payment - this link should do the trick in your specific case.
