how to change the country and payment method for spotify premium

Basic details: Lived in Korea, paid with a Korean card, signed up for premium (individual). Moved to Spain, want to update country and payment method to Spain and keep the premium (individual) plan.

I know in theory I just need to update the payment method, but the problem is when I do this, it says the country and payment method don't match, and declines the card. So I tried to update the country but then it just brings me to the main page of all the payment plan options and says 'you don't meet the pre-requisites for this plan. Here are other ways you can get premium'. So how am I supposed to keep my individual premium plan but also update my country and payment method?

Thanks for letting me know!

 

In this case, we'll need to do things a bit differently:

 

  1. cancel your current subscription and wait until it has ended
  2. once you're back on the free plan, change your country through the dropdown menu here
  3. subscribe to a plan of your choice (using your new payment method) here

Have you tried updating your payment method here? Keep in mind that you'll need to make sure that the country at the bottom of the page is set to Spain and the country that can be selected below the list of payment methods (before selecting one!) is also set to Spain 🙂

However, as I already mentioned in my post, when I try to switch the country at the bottom of the page, it simply opens up the main page of all the payment plans options and says 'you don't meet the pre-requisites for this plan. Here are other ways you can get premium'. So it looks like it is basically forcing me to get a plan that is not individual. It seems to have the individual plan labeled as 'your actual plan', so I think Spotify recognizes that I am already signed up for the premium plan. But I don't know what to do from there as even once I am on that page and try to update the payment method in 'my account', it still links back to that premium options page. It's like a bad loop. So I am looking for what to do from here.

I registered an account in Poland. But now I live in Georgia, and your app does not allow me to change the region and does not accept the card. What should I do?

When trying to link a new card, it says "Your payment method and country don't match". At the moment, I subscribe through Google Pay and this card works fine there.
