Are we allowed to use downloaded music for a slideshow project for family to put on youtube?

You always need to own the rights to the music that you'd like to use or need permission from the artist's label or the artist.

Also, offline music can only be played in the Spotify app. It's not possible to just download it and have an MP3 file or something similar.
