Actually Alow 30 Minutes of No Ads

Solved!

Actually Alow 30 Minutes of No Ads

Fellow Spotify users have this issue. We receive an ad, seemingly truthful about 30 minutes of no ads. However, just 2-4 songs later, an ad pops up. Mind you that these songs are usually 2-3 minutes long. I find it infuriating that I don't receive what I was promised. Perhaps unknown to me, this may be a premium feature. On the topic of premium, these ads become so annoying that it seems like Spotify is picking out which ones seem the most annoying, making the frustrated user buy premium. Of course, I don't think Spotify is actually selecting ads. But it'd be nice if there were actual 30 minutes of free-ad music.

Hi @TheBaker31,
Thanks for reaching out to our Community.
In the free tier, the playback contains ads every once in a while as part of the app functionality. However, ads that give you 30 minutes of ad-free playback are random and mixed with other different ads.
Keep in mind that to get the 30 minutes ad-free you have to keep the video ad in focus, not navigate to another app, browser, etc. Also, make sure you’re not accidentally clicking the "No, thanks" button when prompted to watch the ad.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you still don't get the 30 minutes ad free experience afterwards.

For the past few days I'm getting 2 30s long ads after every 3-4 song. Even after the 30s video ad which says 30 min ads free experience, i still get ads.

I follow all of those instructions when I get the "free 30 minutes of uninterrupted listening" ads but it will play one song after it then more ads. It happens to my husband on his account as well.

My Question or Issue

I’m a little peeved. I don’t at all mind the ad interruptions which pay the artists of the music  an I listen to, however for the past week or so I have been getting absolutely relentless ads.

I have stopped getting 30 minute ad breaks entirely, which were one of the only things that made using the app bearable. It is not an issue of me not having the app open, as this includes when I’m actively using and navigating the app (elaborated on below). It isn’t a reduction in 30 minute ad breaks, it’s that I haven’t had a single one. I’ve also not gotten the little prompt at the top saying “watch this to get a 30 minute ad break” on video ads or anything, it’s like the feature has been simply removed. If it contributes at all, I use Spotify for 9-ish hours daily. I’ll be directly on and navigating the app for maybe an hour of that time total, (I tend to open the app when songs end in hopes to prompt this ad break) but this past week I’ve been navigating it much more often in hopes to prompt an ad break. Before I’d get around 4 breaks a day, in the past week I’ve gotten (shocker) 0. I’m getting paranoid this isn’t a bug.

additionally, I’ve noticed an increase in ads. Now every time i try to swap playlists, regardless of how recently I’ve heard another ad, I get at least 1 unskippable 30 second ad (the type that would normally give you an ad break!) I also believe ive Increased ads in general, as I was getting a set of ads every 1-2 songs as opposed to the normal 3-4. I want to support my favorite artists with ad listening, but it’s quite literally unusable in this state.

If this won’t be going away, I’d at least like to be told that this is a planned update so I stop feeling so singled out here, although I truly hope it’s a bug. Let me know if anyone knows some fixes 🙂

Adverts freeze swiping changes music… while trying to OPEN lyrics tab

30 minutes uninterrupted is really 15 or less minutes & not 15/30 minutes of LISTENING time cheating is why I won’t pay for app, and TIRED of companies taking in money while FORCING users to go to each other for help IF help can be found- for all the money coming into companies, there should be a HUMAN to go to for help!!!

greedy bastards (bobo’s in paradise) of today are NO DIDFERENT than the Rockefellers of yesteryear!

You guys clearly make the free version of the app absolutely unbearable on purpose. Gee, I wonder why people pirate!

Just don't even give us the 30 minutes of free ads things if they don't actually work, unless you want a false advertising lawsuit. I have my app open the entire time and I even timed it how long it was until I got ads. It wasn't even 10 minutes.

You guys are liars and your service is way too expensive. I've watched Spotify go down the toilet after the pandemic.

no, this is dumb. I'll get the '30 min free' message, 1 song, then immediately into 2 ads.

and why SCRAMBLE my liked songs? for all the YEARS I have fckng paid spotify, and paid it as a GIFT to someone I barely knew...this is how you repay us? How about offering a lifetime subscription? I orginally paid through a hulu bundle, that got moved around a ton. then when I lost my job/6 months no job/serious infection/VA benefits cut....that's when Spotify couldn't cut me a break?

here's the 2 ads that played IMMEDIATELY after 1 song following the "30 minutes free"

AND STOP THE BANNER AD asking if this is helpful RIGHT OVER THE DAMN SUBMIT BUTTON. and now the 'verification is expired'. I'm about to declare spotify garbage and start blabbing that worldwide.

i get ads after like 10 minutes of listenign to music

isntead of 30. i would like MY 30 F8CKING MINUTES OF LISTENING TO UNINTERUPTED PUZZLE!!

Is it just me or does anyone else get like 5 30 second ads in a row the next song after it said it would give a 30 minute ad break? I feel like I'm being punished for not having money to spend on premium

Hi! I know this is a different issue, but I use Spotify Free, and every time I get 30 minutes of uninterrupted listening, an ad pops up after the next song. Do you think maybe you can look at this and try to fix it? I’ve always enjoyed this, but I don’t like that when it says I get it, I get an ad after the first song. Thanks!
