Blend playlists not staying current

Blend playlists not staying current

I'm in a Blend playlist with 3 other friends. While the playlist does update daily, the songs have stayed the same for months, just in a slightly different order each day. Most of these are songs that we listened to back when the playlist was created but don't listen to much at all anymore. My friends and I have had a few songs and artists on repeat for the last two months (Beyonce and Nation of Language, for example), and neither artist appear in the blend.

Hey @ambientity,

Thanks for posting on the Community and welcome 🙂

In this case, would you mind creating a new Blend playlist with your friends to see if the inconvenience persists? Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

On another note, we suggest you make sure the Private Session is off, so the algorithm can gather enough info about your most recent listening activity. Also, make sure you're listening to music not only from other recommended playlists like Discover Weekly or Daily Mix, but through the Search option as well.

We'll keep an eye on your response!

We created a new Blend playlist but it didn't change -- the same stale songs are in rotation at the top. All of us listen without private sessions and most often listen from our own libraries.

Hey @ambientity !

Blends try to add songs that would appeal to everyone on the list, so some of the most listened songs might not get included right away. The algorithm definitely takes its time with replacing some of the items in the playlist but we'd suggest staying on the lookout for changes, as they're bound to happen eventually 🙂

We're here for you if any questions arise.
Cheers!
