My Question or Issue

Hi!

In one of the articles I found on Discover Weekly there was a mention that adding songs to playlists is more indicative of one's music taste than liking it by clicking the heart button.

I have several playlists with merely-OK songs and I don't want to delete them.

However, I've already seen some decrease in accuracy on Discover Weekly in comparison to the time before these playlists were added.

Can I somehow preserve the playlists but make them not impact the taste algorithm?

Regards,

Siergiej

Hey there @DeutscheGabanna

Thanks for searching for the answer you need here!

Do you mind sending us a link to the article? We're curious to check it out ourselves in order to help you further.

The Spotify algorithm calibrating your taste depends on your overall activity within the app. This includes your own listening habits (what you like, share, save, skip) and the listening habits of others with similar taste

Hope you'll find this info useful. We'll look out for your reply!

Here's the article in question, written by Spotify staff themselves, so I guess it's pretty accurate: https://newsroom.spotify.com/2019-05-02/five-ways-to-make-your-discover-weekly-playlists-even-more-p...
