Delay in liked songs

My Question or Issue

For the past week or so whenever I try to manually click a song in my liked playlist there is a huge delay before it will play the song. I’ve already tried un-downloading the songs and re-downloading and nothings worked so far. I have no issues with any other playlist besides this one.

Would you mind letting us know if this is only happening on your phone or if you've been able to replicate this behavior on a different device?

Also, you mention that this is the only playlist with the issue - do you have a big liked songs list? Keep in mind that large libraries can affect the app's performance, so we'd suggest downsizing it if this is the case.

Whenever I pick a song from my liked, it takes like 2 seconds for it to be played. This only happens in the liked playlist. The issue started to happen a couple days ago.

To continue investigating this case, would you mind confirming if this happens with other playlists as well? If not, it's possible that the loading issue could be related to the size of the playlist as @Novy mentioned previously. To check if this could be your case, could you have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member with a smaller amount of liked songs to see if the issue persists?

If the playlist loads properly with the other account, we'd recommend downsizing your own list to reduce the amount of data that the app needs to load from it to see if it improves the loading speed.

I haven’t had my family log onto my device but she tried hers, her liked is anout 300 songs less than mine and hers is lagging as well. I tried to go on my desktop, play the liked playlist  and the problem doesn’t appear to happen on the desktop version.

Could you let us know how many Liked songs you & the other account have? In case they're in the thousands, as @Novy has mentioned, keep in mind that large libraries can affect the app's performance, so we'd suggest downsizing it if this is the case 🙂 Try splitting the playlist into smaller ones and see if that would make a difference.

Tip: This can be done easily on the desktop app because of the app shortcuts for selecting multiple songs.

I copied and pasted my entire 'liked songs' into a playlist (about 5000 songs) and it has NO problems. 'Liked songs' however still has the delay. I have even flicked between the two setlists to see if I was dreaming. 'Liked Songs' has a delay even though a playlist with the exact amount of songs doesnt.

I have 5000+ in my liked songs and its having the same issues as the others. However, when i move them into a new playlist (the exact amount of songs CTRL A + CTRL C) it works fine in the playlist
