Ability to Change the Playlist Folder Image

Hello, I recently found out about playlist folders again on Spotify! It's such a great feature to organize my 50+ playlists that have either been made myself, made by others, or made by Spotify. Another great feature is changing the playlist picture on desktop!

It gives me the creative freedom to spruce up my playlists in the best way; however, it is an eyesore on mobile.

I believe that Spotify should implement a feature to let users modify folder pictures on desktop (Hopefully they will implement changing either on mobile...) along with playlist pictures. Yes, this idea has been submitted many times, but I hope that this time it can have enough kudos! Thank you for reading!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you coming to the Community, and adding your votes and comments to this idea.
We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement.
If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.
Thanks.

Yes! I've been thinking about this a lot. I have a bunch of playlists, and it was getting hard to find a specific one by just scrolling. The folders are very helpful in solving that, but now my spotify looks very bland and unappealing. Adding photos to folders would not only be visually appealing but also greatly improve how quickly one can discern between folders. I would love to see the addition of images to folders in a future update. Thank you for bringing this up, Thea!

I'm really hoping that this is implemented soon. 🤞

It's getting harder to differentiate between all of my different playlist folders.

The Folder in Spotify with my Playlists have no unique Symbols they all look the same.

Totally agree with this! Being able to change the playlist folder image would make organizing and customizing our music libraries so much better, especially for those of us who like a clean, aesthetic look like Hope Spotify reconsiders this feature soon — it’s small but would mean a lot to many users!

I recently sorted all of my songs into folders, but now my page looks all blank because it's covered in gray folders instead of playlists with cool covers. I think it would be nice if we could put cover images on folders like we do with playlists, or at least have the folder cover display the covers of the playlists inside in some way. Please vote this if you agree!

There could be the possibility to customize playlist folders with covers, like playlists.

I would love to see this feature added! Hope it gains more votes!

I think that having playlist folders are a really good idea but you should be able to update imiges to the folders like you are able to with playlists

Hello Spotify team,

I'd like to suggest adding the ability to customize a folder image, similar to how you can customize playlist covers. As someone who uses folders to organize music, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to quickly find the right one, since all folders currently display the same default gray icon.

Being able to set custom images would make it easier to identify folders at a glance and enhance the overall visual experience. I believe this feature would improve usability for many users.

I’ve included an image below of how my library currently looks for reference to what i'm writing about.

This reminds me of how on the old UI you could see your library in front of you (aesthetic) and library with folders on the right (organization). I used to have everything in folders as both aesthetics and organization were important to me. But because of how ugly the folder icon is I removed everything from folders and its a mess.
