The 'made for you' feature being an automatic feature on so many playlists is just meaning every single playlist sounds the same and has the same songs in it!
The reason I want to listen to a different playlist is because I want new music not to be pushed the exact same songs I am already listening to - half of them don't even match the genre.
An option to disable this feature and just listen to the default Spotify version would be really useful as it is getting really tedious.
Also sometimes you listen to a playlist with someone else and your like oh I really like these tracks they share the playlist and then it's all different because you are logged in. Seems to defeat the object of a playlist.

Same issue. Listening to music has been frustrating. I am starting to hate my favorites because I hear them non stop no matter where I go in the app. There is no way to discover new music in Spotify any more.
Hi, that "made for you" feature is illogical. We don't want your software to forcibly make my playlists and radios identical. Please add option to disable it.
I am already a subscriber of YouTube Music which I’ve never used until Spotify completely messed up with music and and artists radios. Right now I’m listening to YT Music. If Spotify does not roll back the radio feature as it was before I will cancel my longtime Spotify subscription.
It would be incredibly nice if it would be possible to turn this option off. If I wanted to listen to my own music I would turn on my own playlist.
Yeah, I’ve got the same complaint. I’ll just tried to listen to disturbed Radio, and all of the next songs are like Fall Out Boy and. Jimmy Eat World. Yes, I listen to a bunch of early 2000 emo, but if I want to listen to some aggro rock, I want to listen to aggro rock 🙄🙄🙄
Does anyone know whether Apple Music does this as well. I can't stand the recycled echo chamber of the playlists and radio function anymore, and want some great music suggested based on a particular song, rather than my listening history!
I completely agree with all the concerns raised by other users. I find the new feature very frustrating, as it mostly recommends incorrect songs. Convenience is extremely important to me when it comes to music apps. In this situation, I have a solution to offer: try using YouTube Music's radio feature. Its recommendation algorithm is similar to the one we used to enjoy on Spotify.
Eni: Wasn't the question about DISABLING "Made For You" feature, rather than an explanation of its purpose?? Could you answer the true question at hand:
HOW DO USERS DISABLE "MADE FOR YOU?" Help, please
Please have option to turn off made for you.
I'm currently experiencing the same problem. Made for me wasn't an issue while it mixed a few musics I already had with new ones, but recently any Radio is at least 80% musics I already know. Please let me toggle that off if I want to.
couldn't agree more!! I came to google to search this exact thing. Made for You is definitely cool, as it's own thing, but it comes with it's tradeoffs, particularly when the inspiration is to explore
I agree! THis is the worst feature. I miss the old radios. If I see barefoot blue jean night pop up one more time, I am going to lose it. Highly considering unsubscribing from spotify but holding out hope.
Adding yet another voice of frustration to this thread. I don’t understand why there isn’t an option to toggle “Mad for You” off and on. Agree with other users that the feature creates an echo chamber where every playlist and radio has the same songs. This is the first thing to make me seriously consider switching to another platform after years of exclusively using spotify premium.
same problem... used to find new songs wirh spotifys playlists, now they are basically all the same as mine
long story short... made for you sucks
This “made for me” feature is driving me crazy. As with the other posters, all my lists are sounding the same and I can’t discover new music. Did you or anyone figure out how to disable this? Not being able to discover reliably great *new to me* playlists based on mood/theme is a make or break when hiring a DJ or music app. So short sighted.
To me the problem is even worse than not having new songs: I have ""instrumental"" playlists with vocals, or "bebop guitar" playlists consisting of songs with no "bebop guitar" at all, to name a few... this makes no sense to me
Please just make the "made for you" optional
I'm with you on this MADE FOR YOU feature. Do not like it all. I don't want to keep seeing stuff I've already liked. I'm made playlists for this already so it's totally redundant especially if you're looking at other Spotify playlists. Discovery of new music is not nearly the same. Please create a feature to remove.
I do Love the feature you made when you click on the song and it shows what playlists it's in. Glad that was invented
Cheers
C
I completely agree with all the above frustrations. I understand the push for personalized content since everyone is doing it but it has really destroyed the Spotify experience for me. Years ago I refused to switch to Apple music because I loved my Spotify playlists and I loved the radio feature and all the cool playlists and it was such an amazing way to find music. Now everything is "made for me" and which consists of about ~200 songs. The radio feature shows me my top 100 songs from the past few months. I want to know what OTHER people are listening to. I know what I listen to and I'm so tired of hearing it.
When I discover new music, or rediscover songs that I haven't heard in years, I feel so. happy. But when I listen to the same things over and over it literally makes me depressed!
Please at least fix the radio algorithm.
I want to discover new music and Spotify keeps making it harder and harder to do, I feel like I'm jumping through hoops to get away from the made for you playlists and the songs I've been listening to for the past three months. Please please fix it
I agree. The "made for you" has made it very unsatisfying and removed all the fun of discovering playlists for new music. It's all the same now. The reason why I chose Spotify is because I wanted to easily discover new music. We didn't need this "made for you" feature. All playlists sound the same!
Please give users the option to turn off the "made for [username]" feature. It is ruining my listening experience. Your algorithms aren't half as clever as you think they are. They just keep shoving the same songs down my throat. Please stop. As just one example, there are only so many times I can tell spotify that I don't like Tom Petty, but he keeps showing up in every playlist. I can't think of any good reason for you to not offer this feature to your users - other than maybe you have to pay certain artists less in royalties, so that's why you're pushing them at us? Is that why can't I turn this off?
