How blend playlists are generated?

My Question or Issue

I really like blend playlist feature! But I'm just thinking how playlist are generated. I made one with my friend, but on playlist there is no equal number songs from each of us. There was 12 my songs, 24 songs from my friend and 14 common songs. So there was two times more songs from my friend. I'm just thinking why it is like that?

Other question is about our common songs. There is small profile pics after every song. Sometimes my profile pic is first and sometimes my friend's. How I should read that or is it totally random which one is first?

We cannot share the exact method blends are created as it is proprietary technology, but what we can say is that the service tries to create a playlist that will match botch users' tastes to the best degree.

Depending on the different music tastes, what has been listened to and how Spotify has been used, this could mean that there're more of one user's songs in a Blend, as it is more likely for those to be liked by both.

As for when both of you are on a track - our team is not aware of a specific logic behind the placement of the pics.

Keep in mind that Blends are always a "best guess" based on what our system can gather, so some inaccuracies might be possible, although we hope you still really like these playlists 🙂
