My Question or Issue

My Samsung HW-Q990D Soundbar has Alexa built in and it is linked to my Spotify account. We often play "Calming Dog Music" for our dogs when we leave the house. This has caused Spotify to think this is the kind of music I want to listen to. Most suggestions are now classical or meditation music.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Hey @NK113,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

Currently, there's no option to "reset" your recommendations, but you can guide them to the correct direction by listening to more of the music you love and excluding the relaxing music from your Taste profile.

So for this type of situation, we usually recommend 2 different processes. The first one is to open the app on your phone, tablet or desktop app > Activate the Private session feature > Play music for your dog > Transfer the playback to your soundbar using Connect. This way, all the music you play will not be included in your taste profile.

The second option is to create a playlist and fill it with relaxing music for your dog and exclude it from your taste profile. You can do this by following the steps mentioned in this article. Keep in mind that this second option will only exclude that specific playlist from affecting your taste profile, but if you play any other playlist, it'll be included.

Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hello Oscar, thank you very much for the great answer. Two more questions:

1. How can I clear the history on my Spotify account without removing the songs that I have liked? Since Spotify thinks I want to listen to calming music when I don't, I want to start over with Spotify.

2. Is there a way to play Spotify through my Samsung HW-Q990D while I am not home and also play songs on my phone at the same time from a different location?

Hey @NK113,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

At the moment, there's no option to delete/reset your listening history or taste profile, that's why we'd recommend listening to more of your favorite music so the algorithm eventually reflects your proper taste without the relaxation tracks. In addition, another user already posted that suggestion as an idea, in case you want to add your vote to show your support there.

For your other question, you can only use your account on one device at the time, so it's not possible to stream your music on 2 separate devices at the same time.

Hope this clarifies things a bit. if you need more help, we're just a post away!
