My Question or Issue
Ai DJ, the error is "Your current speaker does not support interaction with DJ". it also does not work on my android tablet. No speaker is connected, the function just doesn't work by default. Although I used to be able to give him my requests and everything worked.
Hey @qoluv,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
That's an odd behavior if you don't have any speakers connected to your device. So first, would you mind trying with a different Wi-Fi network to see if it makes any difference? If you have any active VPN, we'd recommend turning it off to see if it makes any difference.
Also, could you confirm if your Android tablet is giving the same error message when you try it?
Lastly, It would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hey, thanks for the feedback. I tried with wifi and mobile network, tried different vpn and also disabled it. this error always comes out. I'm not sure if this feature has worked on my tablet before, there's not even an error notification on it. but I also tried logging into my account on my sister's phone, it's an iPhone 11 running iOS 26.2, and there's exactly the same error. It is noteworthy that this feature does not work on her account either, she also has a premium subscription in the Pakistan region. when she logged into her account on my phone, there was also this error. we also tried reinstalling Spotify, but it doesn't help.
Thanks for the reply, @qoluv!
Based on the attached screenshot above, you seem to be accessing the DJ from the Now Playing view. Could you confirm if launching it from Search > Made for You instead makes a difference? You mentioned you tried another network, but have you tested with mobile/cellular data to see if the behavior would still occur?
Keep us posted on this 👍
I tried to run Ai DJ from "Made For You", the problem persists. Yes, I also tried using cellular data, it's the same.
Thanks for testing, @qoluv!
Okay, lastly - could you try launching DJ by opening the following link in the Spotify app?
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1EYkqdzj48dyYq
Let us know how it goes.
Still the same
Alright, @qoluv. Thanks again for trying.
Our tech folks will investigate further. We'll keep you posted here as soon as we have any updates.
In the meantime, note that we don't recommend using a VPN with Spotify since this may affect the availability of content and/or features on the platform.
Cheers 🤘
yes i have this promblem too
upd: My friend from India gave me a try on his account with a Platinum subscription, and there this feature works as well as possible. there is also canvas, video, lossless and many more. it is very sad that there is no such subscription in my region, I would be the first to switch to it. and by the way, it's been 12 days since I reported this issue, and nothing has worked. as I have already found out myself, this restriction is due to your region. "Are you in Pakistan? so you're not supposed to use this feature." and it's actually very sad that spotify is not the same all over the world. despite the fact that I pay for the same subscription as in conditional Germany, I don't get even half of the features that are available worldwide. I would prefer to pay more, but get a full service.
I'm on the same model iPhone and same iOS, and it's telling me that I am listening through a device that can't handle requests. I was listening through a Bluetooth speaker the first time I tried it, I disconnected the speaker and got the same error. I closed and restarted Spotify with Bluetooth disabled on my phone, and I'm still getting the same error.
Hey everyone!
We haven't seen any new reports in this thread for a bit, so looks like things are fixed.
Make sure your app is up-to-date if you're still having issues. Should it persist, just give us a shout!
Cheers 🙂
I'm facing this issue just minutes into my dj experience. I'm using an android device with iems, tried listening without it and issue persists. Kindly look into this.
