My Question or Issue
Message boards and FAQ refer to a page saying to click hamburger icon for listening history but this is either wrong or out dated information. (https://support.spotify.com/us/article/listening-history/ ) Article also says this, which is also wrong: "Tip: You can also find Recently played albums, artists, and playlists in Home." I find nothing there of the sort either.
It's rather frustrating to listen to something and not be able to go back to it, other than saving it in a playlist, which I don't always want to do. A rather basic feature that should not be that difficult to find or use.
Hey @capfrey ,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
First let's make sure you're using the desktop app and not the web player.
Click on the hamburger menu afterwards. It brings up the Play Queue. At the top of the window, right in the middle next to "Queue" is the tab "Recently played". Do you see it?
The recently played items in the Home section are the icons you see on the Home section of the app once you load it.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
First of all there is no any "Hamburger menu".... I'm using Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.16.947.gcfbaa410.
I've been only able to see recently played artists. But no latest tracks. It's kind of strange, that so simple and obvious feature does not exist in Spotify. It drives me crazy sometimes...
Oh... Just found that hamburger 🙂 But history looks very short. I'm sure I've been having longer listening history. Why it is so short?
Hey there @skirtum,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
By going to Queue > Recently played on the desktop app, you'll only get the last 50 songs you listened to.
You can check your listening history on the mobile app as well by tapping on your profile picture in the upper left corner > Listening history.
If you want to see the extended listening history of your account, you can download a copy of your personal data.
Hope this helps. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
This really should be implemented. There have been complaints and requests about this for a long time now, and it is such a basic thing lol.
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to search trought the history?
I'm looking for a certsain song I listened to earlier this year and I know what song I listended to right before and I thought I might find it that way.
Is there any way?
Thanks!
I can't seem to find it anymore on desktop, on a Chromium browser, which is frustrating
I only seem to be able to see:
'Queue'
'Now playing'
[]
'Next from: Playlistname'
[]

Is anyone else having this issue?
Hi there @Airofoil,
Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to clarify the functionality.
You mentioned you're using it on a browser, however the listening history isn't available on the web player. Consider installing the desktop app if possible. If you're using a Chromebook, this won't be possible, but you can try to install the Android app instead.
Hope this clears things up.
Thanks Joan! I see. Desktop app definitely has listening history, and browser version does not
Cheers.
