My Question or Issue

I'm trying to get local audio on my playlists but, once I turn on 'show local files', the Local Files' playlist returns no results. I've tried moving the files to my Androids 'Music' folder (normally it would be in 'Downloads'), tried clearing the app's cache and data, and reinstalling the application to no success.

Thanks for getting back to us!

 

In case you followed the instructions and you're still experiencing this, we'd recommend to check Spotify's permissions in Android settings, make sure that the 'Photos and videos' permission is allowed.

Thanks for providing. From what I read, I followed instructions exactly so it's likely that it's from an unofficial source? How would you determine the source/which sources are supported?

 

This is also news to me, as my local files show up in my Galaxy A21 with no issue.

I'm glad to report that this permission is exactly what fixes this issue. I'm wondering why this is not the default when switching 'show local files' on? Must be a versioning issue, but thanks for the information.
