My Question or Issue

I noticed that some local files don't have pictures on them even after I added them. One of my files named "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right (Bob Dylan Cover)" is one of them. After I changed the file name it showed the picture but if I changed it back, the picture disappeared again. I like my file names how they are and don't want to change them. Can someone please help with this? Also, does anyone know how to link artists/albums in the local files?

Hi @jacobwalrath,

Thanks for the reply.

What I've mentioned above applies to all all aspects of the files including the cover art. Since some router block certain networking protocols and this hinders the synchronization of local files.

Have you tried the steps from above?

You can also check the posts in this thread here for possible workarounds.

Hope you find this info useful.

Most of my local files with special characters are working with the cover art though. Like AeroZ said, I think it is caused by the apostrophes in the file names as those are the only ones not working.

I’ve been having the same issue, it’s been going on for months. It’s not just files with special characters. I’ve tried every solution in this thread and none have fixed this issue.

Hey @Jb2008,

Thanks for testing!

Could you confirm that the files you're using are all .mp3s? Which tool do you use in order to edit the metadata and add cover art? It's worth trying with another one, if you haven't already.

In case you're using the mobile app, I'd recommend making sure you've granted Spotify access your files and media.

Cheers 🤘
