My Question or Issue
In the ‘All’ view of the home screen, my recently played section only shows one specific podcast and nothing else. I’ve tried reinstalling, logging out, clearing cache, and switching devices — the issue persists.
Here the screenshot. Couldn‘t upload it in initial post.
Hi there @1155239207,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!
This is odd indeed. When did it start happening? Did you notice if it was after an update or recent change? This is simple, but try logging out and back in twice in a row to check to re-sync the info.
Additionally, go to your Account Overview page and Sign out everywhere. Additionally, remove access to all the apps you've connected to your account from here. You can easily reconnect your apps anytime. Once done, log back in and check if that makes a difference.
Now, what other device did you try with? Does it look the same on a computer? You can check from the desktop app or the Web Player.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Hi Susan
Thank you for your reply.
It basically started when I started the Podcast showing in the screenshot. Meanwhile I have also tried to unfollow the podcast and all, nothing helped.
Logging it twice did not help unfortunately. Logging out of all accounts brought no change either.
I tried it on my iPhone and Windows and Mac App, unfortunately on the desktop apps, there is no such view on the "All" page, only under "Music" and "Podcasts". But my problem is only on the "All" page on my iPhone.
Regards
Igor
Hey there @Igor_Gorbatschow,
Thanks for getting back to us.
On the desktop app or the web player, you should be able to see this section as well:
If you can't, could you send us a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info. Also, let us know the exact OS and Spotify version your device's running.
On another note, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your iPhone to see if the same happens with their account?
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Hello Eni
That‘s not what I meant. On the desktop app under „all“ you don‘t have an overview of your recently listened music or podcasts as you do on mobile. On desktop you have this overview only for „music“ and „podcasts“.
Anyways I‘ve tried to log in with friends phone on my device and everything looks good on their profile. Then I logged in on their device into my account and only one podcast shows also on their device. So it must be connected to my profile somehow.
Thanks for the response @Igor_Gorbatschow.
To get a better understanding of the situation, we'd like to gather some more details.
You mentioned that this started happening when you started the particular podcast. Could you let us know how long this has been happening for and if you're actively using the app to listen to other podcasts and music, but the All section is still not updating? Were you previously able to see more content you've played on Spotify under the All section on your iPhone?
If you've not done this already, please also test how things look like in the Web Player.
It would be great if you could even include a screenshot from the app on desktop only make sure that no sensitive info is visible.
Lastly, as requested by @Eni in this post, feel free to send us the Spotify-version you're using.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Ivelina
I started to follow this podcast maybe 2 weeks ago. I unfollowed it once I realized the issue, but this did not help. I listen to several podcasts and before it showed me all of them. It still does, just not under "all" but under "podcasts". I was able to see a mix of music and podcasts under "all" before the issue started.
I added the screenshots from web player, MacOS desktop version looks the same. As you can see, there is no such view with recently listened podcasts as it is under "all". I think this is the way it supposed to be, right? So only mobile app version shows it wrong. As said, the same with my account on friend's phones.
Additionally I have added you the "all" and "podcasts" views from mobile to compare.
I use iOS 18.5 and Spotify 9.0.60.632. I can't imagine it is a software problem, since it is the same case on friend's phones.
Mobile screenshots, since the upload limit is only 3.
Hey there @Igor_Gorbatschow,
Thanks for the info shared.
We understand you've reinstalled the app on your phone. Just to confirm, have you perform a clean reinstall? We'd suggest you give it a try. That way, you can make sure the stored cache is not leading to this behavior.
If issues persist, could you check if the same happens if you open your account on a different mobile device? You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account there and check.
Lastly, it might be worth listening to a couple of playlists/albums in the meantime as well to see if the top of your home screen while being under All updates.
Keep us in the loop!
Hi Aleja
Did the clean reinstall, issue persists.
As written above, my account shows the same issue on friend‘s devices. If they log in on my device with their account, no issues. This means it must be account related.
I have listened to many podcasts and music since then, issue still there.
Hey @Igor_Gorbatschow,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
Just to make sure we've covered all the basics, would you mind opening that show and checking if you have any unfinished episodes? If so, we'd recommend rewinding the progress bar to 0:00 and logging out/in from your account to see if it stops showing you a pending episode in the home screen.
If the issue persists, you can also mark the content as "Finished" but bear in mind that this may affect your recommendations.
Let us know how it goes.
Hej Oscar
Just did what you‘ve recommended, no chages. Rewindend to 00:00, marked all as listened, cleared cache, offloaded the app in settings. Still the same problem.
Ok, started to follow some new podcasts and it changed at top the podcast but still shows only one as before.
Can no one help further?
Hey there @Igor_Gorbatschow,
Thanks for getting back to us.
It looks like your iPhone's not running the latest version of the app. In this case, we'd recommend performing another clean reinstall by following the steps @AlejaR sent above. Make sure to follow these steps on your PC as well. It's also worth checking if the OS of your devices has any pending updates.
On another note, could you give a different internet connection a go to see if the same happens? If you've been using WiFi, you can now try with mobile data. While connected to that network, try logging out and then logging back in twice in a row again.
However, if none of the aforementioned steps work, we suggest that you create a new account and check if the issue happens there. If not, we know it's not ideal, but you can start using that new account and transfer your content from your current one. You mentioned you have Premium, so in this case, you'd need to cancel it and then re-subscribe on your new account. If you're the owner of a Premium Family or Duo plan, keep in mind that plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months. For more info, take a look at this article.
Let us know how it goes.
Hi Eni
I use the newest Spotify version, when I wrote the used version it was up to date. Only yesterday an update was released (already installed). No, changing from wifi does not help. Looks like my account is broken and since I‘m premium user and owner I can‘t even create a new account without family members losing access (less than 12 months).
That‘s bad, very bad.
Hey @Igor_Gorbatschow,
We really appreciate the cooperation so far!
We've forwarded the info you've provided to the team in order to investigate this behavior and as soon as we have any updates to the matter, we'll let you know.
In the meantime, don't hesitate to let us know if you need assistance with anything else.
Thanks so far!
I have exactly the same issue. It started about a week ago on my new Galaxy phone. I only see one single podcast at the top of the homescreen. It doesn't matter if i listen to several other podcasts. Each time there is a different podcast at the top. I tried other devices but they all have the same issue on my account. I also posted a screenshot from my web player, which does the same thing as you can see. So it is not an app problem. It is a problem with my account. We have a family account and my wife doesn't have this problem. I hope there will be a solution for this strange and annoying problem.
