Play Spotify on more than 1 local speaker

I have like 10 Sonos devices throughout my house. I have Spotify premium. How can I play a song on more than one Sonos device at a time using the Spotify app?

I have searched a bunch and found some posts about Spotify “groups” which was replaced by “Jams”. Both are designed to allow people to listen to music together but they seem to have some of the functionality I’m looking for. When I start a jam I cannot figure out a way to select another local speaker… maybe if I had another cell phone w a different Spotify account I could pretend to be two people and “share” the jam to the other speaker on my network.. seems like a really dumb way to do it. 

Currently I have to go into the Sonos app to group rooms and then I have to go back to the Sonos app to re-group them then close Spotify before I can see the changes.

It’d be so much more simple to choose a few speakers at once when I choose a different speaker for my music. Am I missing something?

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. 

Currently, you can log in and listen to Spotify on as many devices as you like, but you can only play on one device at a time with one account. In this case, it's expected behavior that you can't play music on your speakers at the same time with your account from the Spotify app.

On another note, keep in mind that Spotify Jam is created for multiple users who can listen and add songs to the queue together, whether in-person or virtually. You can learn more about it here.

Thanks for the reply. Just to confirm I am trying to send the same audio to more than one speaker at a time. Can you explain what “Spotify groups” are? When I search google this exact question it has a specific answer at the top that says I can play on multiple speakers by creating a “group”. Can you tell me what that means or what google is referring to?

Thanks for the questions!

Please note that a Jam, previously known as a Group session, is meant for multiple users. This way, you can still listen to your favorite tunes together, even if you're not physically in the same place.

Some smart speakers from the same manufacture, however, can be grouped together. This feature isn't available directly in the Spotify app, so we'd suggest reaching out to your device manufacturer's for more details on how to do this. Usually, it can be done through the speaker app and once you've set up a group, you can then select it in the list of devices in your Now Playing View.

One should be able to play the same playlist on several locations on the same wifi network i.e. like a holiday house party so that the music is seamless throughout the inside and the outside of the house. Happy holidays! 🙂
