In March 2023, we're removing the Playlist Radio option from the playlist context menu. We'd like to hear your thoughts and feedback about this change in the comments.
FAQ
Are we removing the whole radio feature?
No, we are only removing Playlist Radio. Track/artist and album radios will still be available.
Do we have features where users can have a similar experience?
Yes, right now we have the enhance button or the recently rolled out smart shuffle to give recommendations based on user-created playlists.

Why are you constantly making the app worse...?
.
Terrible idea i really liked it and allowed me to discover new artists and songs easily
100% correct! What **bleep** thought to do this!
Really? Spotify seems to be on a mission to remove its best features. This was/is something other platforms simply do not have and a key reason to be on Spotify... the algorithms. What are you even thinking there folks? If you think that your recent "AI" DJ is anything... it is not. Absolutely useless junk that interrupts the listening experience by inserting stupid voices from a virtual talking head... why-oh-why? If you're going to jump on the AI bandwagon (and you absolutely should) then why not use AI to give us this feature on steroids? That's what your users need... a good way to discover new and interesting music... not have some fake dj voice talking useless words. How about Playlist Radio driven by Ai? Now that would make some sense wouldn't it? Oooh, maybe it could even take into account the user's listening habits and even other playlists perhaps to really do something special! That would mean that you could use all the data you collect to benefit the paid user as well!
Rant over... too bad no one is listening though.
Anyone here know which other platforms has this feature and a good algorithm?
Now it makes sense: According to news, Spotify will introduce a new subscription called „Supremium“. It has Hifi and other features like „creating playlist with the help of AI“.
I guess its pretty obvious: They took the feature away from us to give it a slightly different name and then trying to get us to pay a ridiculous amount of money for the new plan (20$).
wow, nice 👍
Wow thats true! I cant believe it was that simple.
I had hopes that the decision was a mistake, or weird idea, but no, it is a cash grab.
I will be cancelling my Spotify subscription and I will remove all my published music from Spotify as well.
Anyone can recommend another platform that has all the features spotify once had?
Removal sucks. I used thus feature all the time.
Why remove a perfectly good functionality and replace it with something completely different (and inferior)?? The enhanced playlist is so much worse since it only adds a very limited amount of new music to the list. My favorites list SHRINKS when I use the Enhanced button. The list of 917 songs loses 40 songs from the total (for god knows what reason) and only roughly 100 of the lists songs are replaced with new songs. How is this supposed to be an improvement over getting a completely newly generated list for discovering new music?
This is THE stupidest decision ive seen Spotify make hands down. It was my go to way to find new songs and now Im probably stuck finding a new platform that does this.
This update was a huge bummer. Especially for someone who is notorious for making 5 song playlists and then loving the radio automatically playing VS the same 5 songs on repeat and my ADHD doesn't notice until I've been listening to the same music for almost an hour. My algorithm for top songs will be destroyed by this!
booo
i hate that you got rid of this! Playlist radio was great as I got to find similar artists and now it’s no longer available. Bring it back!
this was a very bad change.
This is one of the best features that keeps me on Spotify Instesd of Apple music. I can't believe they're removing this
Booo. I loved this feature. Super missing it.
Anti-consumerism is flooding the market, not buying is the best (and likely the only) way to fight it.
Out of the desire to retain my dignity and do my part in making a difference, I will be finding another service.
Goodbye Spotify.
This was a horrible idea. I miss it!😭😭😭😭😭
I have been missing this feature since it was removed, I had hoped that it was just a glitch from having to switch phones and needing to update my apps but I'm so sad to find that this feature has been removed. I have a couple of different playlists that I've created as seeds for a playlist radio station... I guess I could just create a longer playlist and let it continue playing, but I feel like I got more relevant music when I used go to playlist radio!!
I honestly see no reason to remove a much used function. There's little I can add to the comments before me but to say that I agree that for me too it was the best way to find new music within Spotify. It's fine that you want to add new stuff, new ways that you think people can use to find new music, but to actively remove something like that is just silly. You've seriously diminished my use of Spotify.
I am desperately missing the playlist radio - i used Enhance for a while as substitute, it worked okey. No Enhance is gone as well. Basically spotify killed two features that were supporting users who actively facilitate their library (no, smart shuffle is nowhere close to replacing that), with a passion and love for their collections. Taking this authority away from users is harmful to user experience and goes against modern design guidelines, therefore my only conclusion is this must be business driven because they want to drive people into spotify-playlists that they use for revenue and therefore want to increase clicks. This is an assumption - but moving away from a user-centered design, out of which reasons ever is very sad.
