My issue

On one of my playlists, the name and picture I set keep dissappearing after a few minutes. I have to keep resetting it but it never stays set for more than 10minutes; it just resets to the default image (mix of the album covers in the playlist) and the name completely dissappears and isn't replaced by anything else - it just goes blank. This is an issue for when I use my google home speaker as I can't tell it to play this playlist as the name keeps dissappearing, other users cannot find my playlist by name and it is just generally annoying for me to see and keep having to reset.

I have tried to fix this issue by logging out and back in to my account, and by uninstalling then re-installing Spotify on my phone. However none of these have helped in any way and the issue is still persisting.

Hi there @Emmax,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

First we'd like to ask you to perform a clean reinstall of the app. This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

Another useful step to do is to try from a different device to see if the issue persists.

Let us know how it goes.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Hi!

Thank you for the reply. I've done as suggested and tried a clean reinstall of the app - making sure all data and cache had been cleared. But after I reinstalled the app and tried to set the name and picture of the album again, it disappeared not long after. I also checked on my old phone and it showed the exact same as my current phone. So I don't think it's an issue with my phone.

Are there any other options I could try or anything Spotify can do on their end?

Thank you.

Emma

Hey @Emmax,

Thanks for getting back to us 🙂

Could you try editing the playlist on another device to see if that makes a difference. You can try changing the cover image with these steps.

It's also a good idea to try with another network.

If that doesn't help, could you create a new playlist, move the songs to that playlist and try editing it to see if that changes anything?

Keep us posted.

Hey @ver!

This continues to happen even after deleting-reinstalling the app and cleaning caché. I will not create a new playlist to move all the songs to since I have nearly 10,000 likes on that playlist. I don't think it's cuz of an old version, caché or need of the app new version or even the network. Could be it a bug, I could try other options too or is anything Spotify can do on their end?

thanks!

Hey @mixelara,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

The reason for your playlist being taken down can also be the picture or the name of the playlist. Other users could be reporting this playlist so it gets taken down.

Hope this clears things up,

Cheers!
