Playlists not showing up even when set to "Public

Solved!

Playlists not showing up even when set to "Public

I have a premium account and I just started having this issue...

(I'm using the desktop version of Spotify on my MacBook Air)

I make a playlist, add songs and a cover if needed then set it to playlist. But, it doesn't show up on my profile and other people can't see it too.  I tried this with my other account and I had the same problem too. I also tried setting the playlist public on my phone and it shows up there but not on my desktop version. What's going on and how can I solve this? I'm someone who loves making playlists for others so this is quite annoying 😞

Update: I tried doing it on the Web player and it worked but it still didn't show up on my desktop version.

Welcome to the Spotify Community, folks! Click on each section below for more details.

Friends can't see the playlist you just shared with them?

Spoiler

It's possible that the playlist was reported and the system detected something unusual about it, so it made it visible only to you. I'd recommend checking your inbox for any recent emails from Spotify you may have received as there may be something in there which could give a bit more insight on the matter.

If the issue persists, it's worth making a new playlist and copying the contents of the old one into it (you can do so from the three dots menu of the old playlist > Add to other playlist > New playlist). After that, you can add it to your profile and it should show up.

Playlists not showing up on your profile?

Spoiler

Keep in mind that there's a limit of 200 playlists that can be shown on your profile so if you have more, that might be the reason not all of them are showing.

Also, the public playlists on your profile are displayed in the Custom order you've set in the desktop app / Web Player. Any changes to the order of your public playlists will be reflected on your profile as well:

  1. In Your Library, set the filter to Playlists.
  2. Set the sort order to Custom order and rearrange your playlists as you see fit.

Playlists not showing up in Search?

Spoiler
In case your playlist isn't showing up in Search, this is because not all search results are indexed. There are multiple factors that come to play in order for a playlist to show up in Search such as popularity, number of followers, uniqueness of name, etc. This post goes more in depth, so feel free to check it out for more info on the matter. For the time being, I recommend sharing the link directly with your friends.

Hope this clears things up. The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with 👍

I'm having the same problem with the playlists. I have no idea what else to do to put it all back to normal. I didn't move, changed anything. Nor even the new playlists are appearing.

May I ask you,how did you solve it? Thank you.

Hi @user-removed,

Thanks for your reply in this thread.

We understand there are no playlists showing in your profile? Or are you missing some of the playlists? If none are showing, send over a screenshot of your profile (make sure there's no sensitive/private info showing).

Additionally, try checking your profile from a different device or the Web Player, and ask a friend to send you a screenshot of how they see your profile from their account.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

en mi perfil de Spotify no están mis playlist

Me and my friends always check each other's profiles for new playlists but about 2 weeks ago I made a playlist public (yes, AND I added it to my profile, I made sure) but whenever my friends try to look at my profile none of my recent playlists in the past two (2) weeks have shown up for them even though they show as on my profile on my account.

That makes so much sense now because after I removed some of them off of my profile they started to show. Thank you so much!

I have a similar problem

i use the web version of spotify and I've never had a problem with public playlists, but now when I add them to my profile, they show up on my profile on my end and don't on any other account

Ive tried everything previously mentioned on this thread (clearing cache, logging out, restarting, removing then re-adding to profile, removing some other playlists [I have under 50 so I don't think it's over the limit]) and it doesn't seem to work.

the only connection I can think of is that I got premium right before making the first playlist that doesn't show up

anyways idk what to do lol

Hey @puddles674,

This should be resolved now 🙂

Try switching the affected playlists to private/ public again to see if the issue would still persist.
If it does you can try removing the app's cached data one more time.
Hope this helps!

I currently have like 5-7 public playlists, but when I try making my main public and add to profile, it works but only shows added on my profile when I'm logged into my OWN profile. When logging into other accounts it straight up doesnt open. I tried sharing the link to playlist as well and it didn't work. How do I make it public and show on my profile!?!?

Hi there @lilharlow,

Thanks for your reply in this thread.

Could you send over a screenshot of how the playlists look from your account? And how they look from other user's account?

Additionally, if you haven't, try the recommendations given in this thread.

Hi there,

The same thing is happening to my account. I definitely do not have 200 playlists as per another suggestion. I have also cleared the cache on my Spotify on both desktop app and mobile. i have clicked "make private" then "make public" and "add to profile" many times. The playlist is still not showing up and i don't want to lose the saves on the playlist!

I can see the playlist on my Spotify profile, but when I share and send the link to another user it will open up as "Page not found. We can’t seem to find the page you are looking for."

Please help.

Hey @nzonairmusic,

Could you send us the link the the playlist here so that we can take a look?
Alternatively, you can also create a new playlist for testing purposes and send us a link to it instead!
As usual, make sure it's added to your profile.

Thanks! We'll be on the lookout 🙂

Hi Vasil,

Here is the playlist link that is not showing up on my profile and not working when shared (but I really want this one to work as it has 93 saves): https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6FmL1bWq90XlgtQGsYYbd6?si=8e121a8e41e24f06

Here is a duplicated playlist that I made recently that is working and shareable and can be seen on my profile: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6gPgCThLyLjhKUoOvg83i5?si=68f34a03fbd748a4

I have already tested by making a new playlist and clicked the "add to my profile" and "make public" on all playlists I want on my profile - all the others are working. But this one playlist with 93 saves is not working, if you click it an error code comes up as "Page not found. We can’t seem to find the page you are looking for."

Would love some help on this, thank you!

I found a fix.
You need a phone to set it as public. Desktop shows it is public when it actually isn't and setting it as public on a phone updates it

I have a playlist named rap/trap and the profile is PPxGumby and I have 7000 followers . But about 2 years ago my friends told me they could see my playlist. Ever since then I’ve tried everything to messing with setting, changing my playlist to public to private with no success. I’ve invested 8 years in this playlist, please help me.

Playlist showing in desktop but not in android phone.

what if it doesn't show? I only have 11 playlist and only show up to other people, and yet when i open my profile it shows all...what do i do?

Found it!! Everyone is telling you to clear cache and do all this extra stuff. But I think I’ve found your solution.

You can make all your playlists public but they will never show up on your profile unless you manually put it there. Click the three dots on the playlist you want to display. Scroll down. You will see “Add to profile.”

Hope this helps!

My friend messaged me saying that if i turned my playlist private or deleted it. I said i didnt. Only my main playlist is shadow banned or something... every other playlist is public and showing on profile.
I tried making private and public again and again but doesnt work...
Please help as it was my first playlist and had it since a long time.

The issue still persists. I only have 10 playlists, but it’s still not showing one of them on my profile when other people view my profile.

I was chatting to the customer support and they couldnt resolve this issue for me and ended up ending the converstation without saying sorry we cant fix it or anything, just an abrupt end
