My Question or Issue
Hi, release radar isn't updating on my apps (either phone or laptop). I've deleted the app on both devices and reinstalled. No change. Logged out twice on both devices, no change. BUT it does update on the web player... so something isn't syncing specifically with the devices. Are there lingering files on the device that aren't getting cleared when I uninstall?
Thank you for looking into it.
I just wanted to create and upload the screenshots, but when looking now, they are both the same again.
This was definitely not the case last Friday. Songs, order and cover picture are updated and the same.
iOS version is 8.9.64.456
But is your Release radar also showing som older songs? That was included in your release radar previous week? That is the case for me!
I also have the same version of the Release Radar now on web and iPhone.
My Release Radar has also changed in the past month to display these issues.
Are these changes to the function intentional? Or is it a glitch? I'm running the latest Desktop version on Windows.
Hey there folks,
Appreciate you sending your devices' details and info in this thread. We've let the right team know about this behavior with the Release Radar playlist and as soon as we have any updates, we'll let you know.
Give us a shout if anything else comes up in the meantime 🙂
Sometimes, but not the majority. It looked like I had 2 new, but different release radars. Both RR on separate devices were updated with some overlap in songs but also different ones
My Release Radar is not updating as well. It is different on different devices and the current Playlist shows i.e. the Song "All" by "Snow Patrol" and that this Song was added 5 days ago. Wich is not right since it came out August 8th. Sometimes the Release Radar Cover changes. And I follow a lot of artists, think about 1500. Usually the List is full with 80+ songs. At the moment it is just 30. Exactly 30. Many of the songs released prior to last friday.
Hello. My Release Radar keeps showing released a week before after every update. All of the 30 songs are from weeks before. The lists are same for each of my devices. It also looks same on Web Player too.
The weird thing is that when I click "stories(?)" of the Release Radar playlist on my phone, I see newly released songs that is invisible in the playlist.
I have the same issue, release radar didn't update and the story did change to the songs it should have updated to
Since mid Aug 2024, the Release Radar shows one list of songs, but when playing, approx 2/3rds of the songs are not from that list. This happens both on my Android and MacOS player.
On the Android player there is no reaction if I tap on ~2/3rds of the songs, on MacOs I get a "Spotify can't play this right now..." error if trying to select the very same song - while in Release Radar.
There's no randomness in this. Bot the songs displayed and playing are recently released, and make sense from your algorithm point of view. The list displayed is the same on both players - it's just disconnected from what the player have decided to play.
If I open the songs via album or artist they play just fine.
I.e. This is not an idea, it's a software bug. (Just as this forms bugged - I can't select plaform & category...)

My Question or Issue:
Last 3-4 weeks I see an issue with Release radar, what is best function of Spotify for me. Start of issue I spotted with the first track - always a picture of release radar is picture of interpret of first song in weekly playlist. When I play spotify in Volvo car (sensus), it starts play with that artist, but when I click on list of tracks and want to see what is inside, there are different tracks in different queue. Some tracks what are playing in Release radar I can not find in list. When I open Release radar on web or in mobile application, there is again different list of tracks and some new tracks what I see in Volvo car, I can not see in other devices. In other devices I have only few new tracks and rest of them are from previous week.
Also there is different queue in Volvo car (sensus) and other devices.
Hi Ivelina,
This issue seems to be impacting more users including myself and there is a reddit thread on it now. I have no idea whether or not you can escalate this to Spotify's IT team, but if so it would be great. Reddit thread:

The issue continues to persist for this Friday too. It seems like there is some bug where a decent percentage of tracks are being recycled week after week on Release Radar. For the past three weeks I've now had my Release Radar recycle a number of tracks which comprise around a third of the playlist every week. I've tried logging in and out, reinstalling the app, etc. There is a reddit thread also so it seems to be a widespread issue:
https://redd.it/1ez3t2t
Today it looks like my Release Radar is the same in iphone app as in web player, but the playlist itself is not good.
I experience the same as Castus01 - many songs are the same as last week and the week before that...
I find at least 8 new songs on my list this week and those are the first 8 songs.
Have the same problem. only 30 songs, older (normaly there's around 200 items) ...Last 3 weeks it worked in web player, this time not. Hope it will be fixed soon, because the Release Radar is the main reason why I use Spotify instead of Youtube Music Player 😕

For me the playlist is updated with new songs, however some songs are also from last week. It looks like that the songs are the same but the order for the iOS app and the webapp is different

Release radar playlist not updating
I have similar issues as the other posts on this thread. The Release radar playlist has not been updated since Friday 09.08.24 No updates to Release Radar on the web-spotify, MacOS app or on iOS. Same tracks for the last three weeks. I have tried to unfollow the Release radar playlist... and re-following it. The Discover Weekly playlist is working well and updating every monday.
Hi.
Friday 09.08.24 is the last date that the Release Radar playlist was updated... same date across web, app and macos. On iOS i run spotify v 8.9.66.462.
Im a premium subscriber located in Norway. Hope this info helps!
This is so broken, only had 4 songs update in My Release radar today.
Hi Elena, I'm also facing the same issue : it's only the Release Radar playlist that is affected.
The issue happens only on the desktop web player, it works fine on my spotify android mobile app.
My laptop web browser is google chrome, no idea if it changes anything for you.
Basically it looks like the songs haven't been properly updated from week to week
-> I'll click on the playlist & the 1st song playing will be what is shown on the playlist but the queued songs are all from last week's release radar ! see screenshot attached
I cannot deleted the queued songs.
If I try to click on another song on the Release Radar playlist (like Die With A Smile, 3rd song on the paylist) then it just restarts the 1st song (burn by eaJ & salem ilese) over again.
