Can you share a screenshot of the same so I can take a closer look? Please confirm if the new songs are getting added to the playlist or the queue.

If they are being added to the queue then this might be because of a new feature Spotify launched recently. It is called Smart Shuffle.

Smart Shuffle adds recommendations to your playlist queue. If you are on a free plan then you might not be able to turn Smart Shuffle off. 

Smart Shuffle will now be the default play mode on mobile devices for Free users in Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Thailand, the Philippines, Turkey, and Vietnam. Smart Shuffle delivers tailored recommendations that match the vibe of what users are currently listening to—whether that’s a Spotify playlist, album, or artist page.
