My Question or Issue

The scroll bar that appears on the right side of the screen when you scroll down fast isn't there anymore, which is very unfortunate for me since I have almost 5,000 liked songs. I've performed a clean reinstall of the app and updated it to the latest version and the scroll bar still isn't there and I can't find anything else to try.

My Question or Issue

The "scroll bar" is missing again after an update.

As reference link and link were the same issue and both of them are old or solved hence this new thread.

The grabbable circle is visible if I'm on the "Your Library" tab, but disappears once I go inside a playlist.

What I've tried so far:

- Logging into another account on the device
- Clearing cache
- Clean re-installing Spotify
- Logging out twice in a row

Hey @Elyssen,

Thanks for reaching out and kudos for all the research and troubleshooting!

You mentioned that the same thing happens when logging in a different account on your phone, but it'd be great if you can also try logging in your account on a different device. This way we can have a better understanding if this is account- or device-related.

Can you also check if there are any pending OS updates and install them (if you want to)? What about the network connection - does this happen on both WiFi and when mobile data is used? You can also try restarting your phone, since this can improve its performance.

Keep us posted.

Hello!
It's present while browsing "Your Library" but disappears when entering a playlist, image attached.

- I've tried logging on my old iPhone X, the scroll bar is present there.
(It's an older iOS and device but still rules out it being an account issue)
- My current iOS version is 17.7 which is up to date as of right now unless I want to upgrade to iOS 18.
- It happens both on WiFi and Mobile Data.

The "Create +" button wasn't there for me about 12 hours ago so something's clearly updating;
even if it's in an awful place jesus just remove it again.

iOS Version / Your Library / Inside Playlist

Hey @Elyssen,

Thanks for getting back to us.

We noticed in the screenshot you sent that, in your Liked Songs, there's a scroll bar. Does it work properly or is it not doing anything when you press it? Is the change you mention only visual?

It does seem like your app is being updated, so this might be the reason why you're seeing some of these changes.

Keep us posted.

Hello! Hope this clears up the misunderstanding.

This is what we can grab and move around making scrolling easy.
This is the one I'm missing inside playlists including liked songs, the one that disappeared from one day to another.

This is just visual and can't be interacted with, having this one does not help scrolling a few thousand long playlist easier.

Hey there @Elyssen

Thanks for getting back to us and for the clarification.

We can confirm that both scrolling bars have the same purpose. You should be able to use the second one just the same as the first one.

In this case, it looks like the issue is device-related. Also, you mentioned that you started to notice this after an update, was it an update of your OS or the Spotify version?

Also, could you check if you tap on the scrolling bar, does it become green, but immovable or does it stay grey?

We'll be on the lookout.

After some fiddling around I can confirm both can be touched and used for scrolling although the 2nd one which is just a line is really hard to press especially with a case. (I was wrong about it being only visual)

It changed after a Spotify update not an iOS update.
I also verified by downgrading my Spotify to version to an older one (866754726) 8.9.50 from 2024-06-18 and it's back to how it used to be with the "circle" as my scroll bar.

If it was an intended change on Spotify's end then the thread can be closed, although I suspect it's not intended because it keeps changing between the two versions from time to time.

Hi @Elyssen,

Thanks for your reply and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We'll make sure to pass it on to the relevant teams.

If anything else comes up, the Community will be here.

Cheers!

My Question or Issue

In the liked songs section as part of library, when you would scroll up/down with the scroll bar, a month and year would pop up indicating the date the song was liked. This was very beneficial. For someone that has 3000 liked songs over 8+ years, being able to scroll to a month where I know I added a certain song is very important. Recently this was removed, please please bring it back

The removal of the date indicator in the Liked Songs section is a significant loss for long time Spotify users. For someone with thousands of liked tracks spanning years, the ability to scroll and pinpoint songs by the date they were added was invaluable for organization and nostalgia. Restoring this feature would greatly enhance usability and allow users to rediscover music from specific moments in their lives effortlessly. It is a subtle but powerful tool that aligns with Spotify’s goal of creating a personalized music experience

My Question or Issue

I discovered this morning that the scroll bar is gone in both my "Liked Songs" playlist and my radio playlists.

When I log onto my Spotify on my partner’s iPhone, the ‘liked songs’ folder shows the grabbable circle, and the radio playlist shows the scroll bar

My partner couldn't log onto my Android because whenever she tries logging in via Facebook, Spotify would use my credentials instead of her's.

What I've tried so far (noen brought back the scroll bar on my Android):

- Clearing cache
- Clean re-installing Spotify
- Logging out twice in a row

Hello @TheDreamLeaf,

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and welcome!

Firstly, did you notice when this started happening and if it was after something specific (such as an update for example)?

It's great that you've already tested with some troubleshooting steps. This behavior could be related to some damaged cache and a clean reinstall could be helpful, but since you've already gone over this step, but there's no difference, can you let us know if you're using an SD-card in your phone? If that's the case, it could also store cache so it's worth removing it and clean reinstalling Spotify once again just in case.

When it comes to your partner logging in to her account on Spotify, make sure to first log out from your account in the Facebook app and try again.

We'll be on the lookout.

Please Spotify team!  This is super urgent.

This feature is essential

When I was going through old songs I noticed that the date on the scroll bar was missing when scrolling through my Liked Songs

I've been using Spotify for 7 years now to archive the music I listened to at different periods of my life.  This feature going missing is a huge loss for what I use this app for.

My Question or Issue

It used to be that while quickly scrolling in the Liked Songs a larger scroll handle would appear which would allow you to see the month and year that the songs were added to the playlist and to quickly jump to a period from the past. I loved this feature since I often like to revisit the songs that I was listening to around the same time 1 year ago, 2 years ago, and so on. Would love to see this feature return.

My Question or Issue:
I have a lot of songs in my liked songs playlist and now when I go to the playlist my scroll bar is missing which hinders how fast I can scroll and find older songs.

Update I have tried deleting my cache and reinstalling the app. Neither of these have helped. I still dont have a scroll bar for my liked songs list or any playlist.

Hello

I am still having the same problem. I have tried a clean reinstall of the app as well as signing in and out twice to no avail. This problem has been ongoing for months, maybe even years. Sometimes the scroll bar will revert back to normal. But it's been at least a month where it has been missing and it's getting frustrating.

iOS 18.2

Spotify 9.026.607

I started experiencing the same issue today during my shift. I noticed that signing in and out of the app temporarily restores it, but it also seems to downgrade the app, which is really strange. This bug is especially frustrating because I rely on my liked songs for offline listening, and I have a long plane ride tomorrow where I'll need them. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon. Spotify MOD APK [external link removed by Mod]

I'm having the exact same issue. iPhone SE 3, Spotify version 9.0.32.638
