My Question or Issue

The "scroll bar" is missing again after an update.

As reference link and link were the same issue and both of them are old or solved hence this new thread.

The grabbable circle is visible if I'm on the "Your Library" tab, but disappears once I go inside a playlist.

What I've tried so far:

- Logging into another account on the device
- Clearing cache
- Clean re-installing Spotify
- Logging out twice in a row

Thanks for the screen recording @CIIG. It looks like the scroll bar has been replaced with the native one. For now, you can use that, and the songs not loading quickly could be related to your network speed, device performance, or the app cache.

You can go into app settings -> data-saving and offline -> clear cache. Restart the app and see if that makes any difference with scrolling.

You can also go to the top of the list and swipe down to see the current filtering/sorting options.

Spotify is constantly testing new features and changes. It is possible that this is one of those changes. If you have a better idea, feel free to check out our ideas board.

Let me know if you need help with anything else. 🙂

Its evident in the video that I am unable to use the default IOS scroll bar as it takes 4-5 trys to get it to actually register. Coupled with the fact that when sliding to extend the scroll bar and make it larger it inadvertently will slide on the song overlapping the scrollbar, causing what you see in the video. Overlapping UI and unliking a via the slide feature. I am not concerned with the speed at which songs load in, i am concerned with the buggy mess that is removing the native default scroll chip and date registry from “Liked songs” considering a version of it still exists in the “My library” tab.

Hello, I recently noticed the feature showing the date of songs that I liked was removed or is not showing up on the scroll bar in the liked songs playlist. I’m wondering if this feature could be added back or if your plan on adding it back. It was an awesome feature and helped keep track of song along with being nostalgic, thanks for reading.

Did this get addressed? Same problem for me on iphone

Still waiting. Please fix this 😕

Hi folks,

Thanks for the replies.

There are some changes being made backstage, so can you confirm if the issue still occurs for you? If it does, please confirm the Spotify Version you're using.

Keep us posted.

Hi, I’m using version 9.0.60.632 on an iPhone 15 and the alphabetical scroll bar is still missing. The only scroll bar that I have is this thin white bar which is not efficient because if you scroll too fast, it will automatically go all the way down to the bottom and not load the artist/titles/pictures of all songs. It’s quite frustrating considering I have 2k+ songs and now I have to rely on searching for a song or carefully scrolling through the app..lol

This feature was perfect for finding an era in my life where I listened to specific songs. I’d love to have it back.

My Question or Issue

The scroll bar in my "Liked" playlist is very hard to use. It's way too skinny so it's hard for my thumb to grab it, and even when I do it doesn't work half the time. I have to scroll down manually really far for it to maybe start to work. Why did they get rid of the old round scroll button? That was so easy to use. Or even the ABC quick scroll, that was the best.

Hey @SpaceRain6, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I understand your concern, and thanks for sharing your feedback. There’s more information about why the app changes on this support page. Regarding the scroll bar not working after the change, let’s try a clean reinstall of the app following these steps. These steps are more thorough than the simple reinstall and can solve common issues.

If you’re still having trouble, can you let me know if this only happens on the Liked Songs playlist, or any playlist that you try to listen to?

Keep me posted.

I followed those steps, and the scroll bar is working better now, however it's still very hard to use. It's way too skinny for my thumb to grab it properly, and when I scroll down it scrolls way too fast. The previous scroll button was so much easier to use; in fact the ABC quick scroll was the best. Please bring that back.

Never mind, it’s gone right back to having the same issue again. Yes I followed all those steps.

I want the community to have a larger or bigger iOS scroll bar! At the moment it’s tiny and hard to grab look at the attachment for iOS on an iPhone 16 Pro Max…

scroll bars are mostly rendered by the os you're using (desktop and mobile). the issue is with apple, not spotify. maybe there is a setting on your phone on how it should render gui elements. like in android you can increase or decrease the size of gui elements, texts and icons.

Hello Spotify team,

I’ve been a Premium user since 2017 and I’d like to report my frustration with the removal of the scroll bar in playlist Edit mode on the Android version.

This feature was essential for organizing large playlists. Without it, moving songs has become slow and exhausting, as it requires dragging items manually all the way down the list.

This is a step backwards in usability on Android, and it directly impacts the experience of those who truly use the playlist editing feature — one of Spotify’s strengths.

On behalf of many users who still value this functionality, I ask that the scroll bar be brought back urgently on Android.

Thank you for your attention

Thank you for your attentio.

I’m not sure that it is? I recall at one point Spotify had a thicker scroll bar ages ago now… pretty sure even the Apple Music app has a thicker scroll bar?

note: there’s nothing in accessibility to fix this

It had a bigger one. Also blaming iOS is not really fair here. The "Your Library" page has the round one with the arrows that works so much better, the one in the playlist is basically impossible to grab. Giving the playlists the same one as Your Library should solve this whole problem.
