I'm using Spotify in my browser, and a few weeks ago my search function suddenly stopped working as it usually did. I wasn't sure where it went or how to re-enable it but I think I may have just found out what happened to it. I'm not sure how to fix it, though.
I can search things like normal if I type something in the bar and hit enter, but when I'm trying to add multiple songs to a playlist, this is tedious due to the fact that I constantly have to click back onto the playlist to make sure the song is there. (This is especially tedious when I'm trying to do something like copy a playlist from one of my other music providers into Spotify by hand.)
Usually, when I search something, a dropdown menu would come up with search results and I could just add songs from there. No need to press enter or go to the full search results page. This is the function that suddenly disappeared. I thought I disabled it or pressed some weird keyboard shortcut I didn't know about? I checked the keyboard shortcuts and saw no combination that would cause what I'm seeing. I just cleared my cookies and cache, literally as I wrote this, and it's still doing it.
What I'm suddenly realizing, however, is that that search function is actually still there but is for some reason hidden behind my main view. I closed all the library and playing views and still nothing worked. I changed the zoom of the page back to its normal 100% (I usually have it at 75%) but that didn't do anything either.
I took a small screen recording searching some songs/bands I like and you can see the very top of the dropdown menu, and then where it's hidden. I'm not sure how to fix this or what to do about it. I've reloaded the tab many times, I also closed the old tab and opened a new one, and the problem consists.
Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
