can't play local files from pc on my android phone

I tried to play local files from my laptop om my android phone. But they won't play.

I made a playlist on my laptop with the local files and downloaded them.

My phone is connected to the same network as my laptop and the files can be played on spotify on my laptop.

In the settings on my phone there is only the option to see local files from my phone. Nothing like 'on devices on the same network' or something similar (like in the past). The songs in the playlist are grey and have a exclamation mark underneath them.

What's wrong?!

Hi, thanks for asking in the community!

Make sure to read this FAQ about local songs which will clear some doubts about why not all local songs work. Also, now you do not need to sync songs from your laptop to Android because Spotify Android now has native support for local files. The steps on how to enable it are also in the FAQ linked above. Basically, you have to transfer the local files to your Android device and enable local songs on your phone in order for it to work.
