Hi @Knuspi,
Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!
In order to sync the local files from your PC to your iPhone, both devices need to be connected to the same network. In addition, on your iPhone you need to allow the Spotify app to access your local network, which can be done in Settings > Privacy > Local Network. This article goes in depth on how to sync your local files, so check it out, if you haven't already.
Hope this info was useful. Cheers!
Hello
I've already followed all of those steps and also tried with connecting my PC with my phones Hotspot. But nothing has changed.
I appreciate the help though.
Hi there,
Thank you for your reply.
In this case, you can try syncing the files from the iPhone. For the local files to show up in Your Library in the app, you can try moving your songs to the Spotify folder found in the Files app > On My iPhone. Make sure you've also allowed Spotify to access Media & Apple Music, which can be done from your device's Settings > Privacy. More info here.
Let us know how that goes!

My Question or Issue
My phone won't sync a local file from my computer. If I can't get this song on my phone, I am GOING TO KILL MYSELF. So PLEASE help me get this work. Because I am NOT JOKING. I am GOING TO KILL MYSELF if I can't get this STUPID **bleep**ING FILE on my **bleep**ing phone.
Hello, I have tried this as my first option. The files I put in the spotify folder in folders on ios don’t show up in my local files « album » on spotify. The only piece I have here is one song I bought on itunes.
I have also tried syncing these songs from on my pc, I could see them while they were playing on my pc but nothing more.
Hii I'm sorry for not having replied earlier I didn't receive any kind of notification. I felt the same way as you did and I still have that problem... but i found a solution after having talked with support for over an hour or so I got so frustrated. But basically what I must do in order for this to work is manually get the song file from my pc on to my phone preferably directly to the app "files" under "On My iPhone" or idk using iCould or OneDrive to just somehow get it to that location. And then under "On My iPhone" there should be a folder called "Spotify" with the Spotify logo on it. Drag the file into this folder and it should appear in spotify. The only thing that really annoyes me is that i have to this sh** every single time.... anyways hope that helped and you didn't end yourself

My Question or Issue
How do you get the Spotify folder in the file app for iCloud?
In the Spotify settings go to “local files” and activate “show audio files from this device” then the Spotify folder should appear in your local files.
Though I don’t think having the Spotify folder in your iCloud works since it’s a locally saved folder location that you have to use. And unlike on a laptop or desktop you don’t have the choice to choose what location you want Spotify to access.
I hope that answered your question!
Thanks, after going through my iPhone I founded the location of the Spotify folder in iCloud, but the problem still persists, I can only hear the music in the local folder once the app is open on my laptop and never when my laptop is offline, I have checked the app settings and both laptop and iPhone apps allow the use of local files, so I don't know why they aren't playing on my phone, even thought they are downloaded in the Spotify folder (which updates automatically). I have even uninstalled the app and downloaded again in my phone. I include photos of the folder at different times showcasing that even when a file is uploaded it refuses tu play it, that the file after some minutes turns gray and the foto of inside of the folder (the insert of the folder and the photo of the gray song are from the same try).
Please help!
what if i can't find the spotify folder on files?
I have enabled local files but the folder does not appear
Make sure that the folder is stored locally on your phone ("On My iPhone") NOT in the cloud otherwise it wont work.
make sure that in your phones settings, Spotify is allowed to access your files & folders. If that still doesn't work try to clear your cache, by going through a clean reinstall. (there should be a post about that somewhere on the form and if not google will help you out just fine) after reinstalling Spotify head to the settings again and activate all necessary settings again.
I really hope that works for you!
dude literally the only thing that helped me oh my god ur a godsend stg i was losing my mind over this u saved me i’ll like totally invite u to my wedding or something or i’ll like give u a cut when i win the lottery ur awesome have a wonderful amazing life u beautiful stranger
Thank u bro (MAKE THIS COMMENT THE SOLUTION)
For a company that makes billions their help documentation sucks because it just doesn’t work. Tried cache clear, clean reinstall, all permissions are good. Only my Apple Music files show up, but not the On My iPhone>Spotify. Fix your documentation Spotify! Or did you lay those people off?
