why can't the built-in playlist be changed?

My Question

How can I make it so that when I add a track to favorites, it is automatically added to another playlist created by me, I just can’t change anything in the built-in “favorite tracks” Playlist, although I have premium, and this is very inconvenient, and is it possible to delete this playlist somehow?

Hey @Divan_69,

Thanks for your reply!

No worries at all, you're asking some valid questions here and we'd be happy to share some more info! We can confirm that it's expected for the Liked Songs playlist to be slightly different than the other ones, since it has fewer features, so everything you've noticed so far is what it's supposed to be like. However, if you want to have a playlist with the songs you've already liked and have more options, then you can bulk select all tracks and move them into a new playlist. The easiest way to do that would be in the desktop app:

  1. Open Liked Songs
  2. Select the first song
  3. Click Ctrl+A to select all tracks
  4. Right click on a song and select a playlist to move them to.

If you don't want to move some songs, while all of them are selected, simply click on Ctrl and then on the song you want to unmark.

Hope this clears things up.

Hey there @Divan_69

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community!

Just to confirm, what are you referring to when you mention you can't change anything in your Liked Songs playlist? If you want to remove any song from it, you just need to tap on the 3 dots next to the song and select "Remove from this playlist". You can also sort it by Title, Artist, Album and Recently added. To do so, you just need to swipe down on the playlist to reveal the Search bar at the top.

If you want to add any song to this playlist from somewhere else in the app, you need to tap on the 3 dots next to the song and select "Add to Liked Songs". If what you want is to add it to several playlists (not only Liked songs), you can select "Add to other playlist" from the same context menu.

If you want to achieve something else or you have any additional questions, let us know, we'll be here to help.

Cheers!

Hi!

In the "Favorite Songs" playlist, I can't access the features that are in the playlists I created. For example, I can't change the order of the songs as I need to, or I can't change the playlist name, cover art, or anything else! The only thing I can do with this playlist is what you have listed, and the rest of the features available in the playlists I have created are not available in the built—in playlist. I don't understand at all, is this the case for everyone or just for me? I'm sorry for asking stupid questions, I just downloaded Spotify recently, and I haven't found anything related to my questions on the Internet. 😔 here, the screenshots show the difference, 1 does not have the same functions as 2
