Same issue.. my husband has a kindle that he takes to work and also on the river when when we kayak... I can't tell you how many times he's complained about this **bleep** thing losing all his music. I thought it was the kindle! Now that I've seen all these posts, it's spotify!!!!!! Ugh, so, Google music is the more dependable choice?
I am experiencing the same issue. Spotify will delete all offline songs on Android after every update (updates are almost weekly sometimes...).
Same trouble with Windows 10 Store app, not sure if it is caused by updates because I have never given explicit permission to update.
Please provide a solution for this issue to ensure that no charges are applied by my mobile provider.
This has gone on for so long now we have switched to Deezer. Same amount of song coverage but with the great feature of not deleting offline files every few days. We even tried to open a support ticket with spotify to resolve the issue and got no where.

I finally solved this problem by switching from storage on my SD card to local storage. Only problem is that i don't have as much local storage as i have on my SD card...
Unfortunately mine is already installed on the local storage. Glad to hear the problem can dissapear. For how long is it working now? Mine always deletes on spotify app updates, if I postpone them the issue is less frequent
Issue is solved for about a few weeks now. Only now i have a new different issue popping up... when i try to search a song in my playlist it plays the wrong song (first song on the playlist).
same issue for me. running version 8.4.52.812 on my android tablet but I've seen this happen on my android mobile device too.
the download switch for all my libraries just switches to the off position and I have to redownload all the songs again. the data is still there on my SD card, about 7.5Gb of songs and if i try to redownload them, it does not find already downloaded songs but starts to download copies. this should be your first fix (find existing songs and not redownload then) then worry about the primary bug (downloaded libraries turning off automatically).
i just dont get why spotify does not fix this bug, think of all the bandwidth you are paying google cloud when your customers have to redownload all their songs...
Still happening, just spent the last few weeks redownloading my offline content because they wiped it! Then i go to use my music last night and its all friggen gone again! It wasnt because of an updated either because last time they told me to turn automatic updates off and it would stop this from happening but obviously it doesnt. Not happy as you quiet happily take my money every month but i have to spend the next whole month downloading everything again 😠
Why is this listed as solved? And why the f*ck has Spotify not solved this yet? I've been using premium for a couple of months now and had not encountered this issue until a week or two ago. Now every couple of days, bam all downloads gone.
I've been having the same issue for months on Android. Moto x4, save to SD card, android 8.1.
Same annoying problem here. I so d*mn hate this. I really feel like there is more music here in spotify than deezer but this problem changes everything. I'm moving back to deezer.
Admins: it looks like this problem has been there for a long time. If you ever fix this please tell me and maybe I will think about coming back.
This has happened to me across numerous devices and is honestly so **bleep** frustrating. Worst part is that the phone says it's using up several gigs of storage yet I cant access the songs offline. Once again I have to delete all the data and re-download. Argh!!!!
You can't be real.
Since 2 years I have this problem over and over angain and you, as the biggest music streaming service in the world which millions of users pay monthly, aren't able to fix that?
I'm so **bleep**ing dissapointed.
Same issue, it had follow me since 2015 on a samsung s5 and now on a xiaomi 4x, all songs gone because ..., We know the reason.
