All songs keep repeating on my apple watch

Solved!

All songs keep repeating on my apple watch

Songs keep repeating on my apple watch even if I have shuffle on or off. I have to manually tap next. I have tried multiple different playlists from my watch during my nightly runs.  These are all offline downloaded playlists. This worked fine for years. I have uninstalled the app from my watch, reinstalled it, deleted the playlists and redownloaded them. Still the same

Why would you report this to Apple?
It is a Spotify app on;ly problem.

It requires a solution from Spotify.

UPDATE:
I deleted the playlist from my watch and re-downloaded it.
The first play through was flawless. No stops, pauses or repeats.

Since then it has stopped after playing song 2.

No forward button visible. Only play and go back.

So even worse!

Same issue.

Spotify need to realise Apple Watch stand-alone playback is a major reason users pay for premium.
This is going to impact their revenue base if it isn't fxed.

Me to. Is there any clarity that Spotify are aware and working on this issue?

Nope - I spoke to three different people on the support team (they kept
handing me off) and none of them had heard of the issue or made any attempt
to reproduce it. It's infuriating.

NOT ok! If we don’t get positive feedback before the end of this week, it will be a switch back to Apple Music.

When I’m on a run, if I listen to Spotify on my watch it’ll ply the first two songs of my playlist then just stop until I manually start it up again, then the problem happens after another 1 or 2 songs. This makes Spotify almost impossible to use on a run. Will be switching to Apple in a week if this isn’t sorted. Is there any testing done on updates at all.

apple Watch 7

I have just spoken to support: They gave me these steps below and I tested with 3/4 songs, iphone switched off, downloaded a new playlist (My own one I created) put on shuffle!  Completed a walking workout and played all 4 songs without manual intervention. I am now downloading from other playlists and will try a run tomorrow! Hopefully will work but if anyone wants to try the steps are below!

1.In your app's Settings and privacy, tap Storage then Clear cache. 2. Go to your device's Settings, then tap General. 3. Tap iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage on your iPad), then select Spotify from the list of apps. 4. Tap Delete App and confirm. 5. Once the app is deleted, press and hold your device’s lock button and either volume button at the same time until the power off slider appears. 6. Drag the slider to completely turn off your device, then wait a few minutes. 7. Press and hold the lock button again until the display turns on. 8. Switch your device back on and install Spotify from the App Store.

I don’t get step 1. Can you provide more details?

Me either. It sounds like you're operating on your iPhone's Spotify app,
not your Apple Watch app. Please clarify.

Ahh he means to run Step 1 within the Spotify app. Settings -> Storage -> Clear cache.

No using Apple Watch Playlists only play one song and then stop

ah yes, the app shows offload and delete, I just went straight into Delete app! Yes I'm operating on my phone as the app is linked to the iWatch, so when you delete from the phone it also deletes from the watch.

Hi Vasil,

I am writing to share my experience with this as well. The app stops playback after each song in a playlist, requiring me to manually hit the “next song” button to play the next track. It’s important to note that this started about a month ago when a positive change was introduced to offline playback which was the ability to start offline playback in shuffle mode which until recently was not possible. Previously it would always start with the first song in the playlist and I’d have to go back and hit shuffle each time I started a new playlist. Not sure if the introduction of this feature (which I would love to keep) also has caused the bug which playback dropping after each song.

Details of the Issue

Device: Apple Watch Ultra 2

Issue: Playback stops after each song in a playlist instead of continuing automatically.

Scenarios Tested:

•Streaming playlists via iPhone connection (works fine).

•Playing downloaded playlists offline (malfunctioning behavior is present and playback stops after each song).

•Using both AirPods Pro (latest firmware) and the Powerbeats Pro

Steps Taken to Resolve:

1.Rebooted the Apple Watch.

2.Uninstalled and reinstalled the Spotify app on the Apple Watch.

3.Tested both with and without the iPhone connection.

4.Attempted playback using downloaded playlists.

Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue when playing offline audio from my Apple Watch.

Environment Details

Apple Watch OS Version: WatchOS 10 (latest version).

Spotify App Version: 8.9.94 (latest version).

iPhone Model and iOS Version: iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18.1 latest version).

Earbuds Model: AirPods Pro and Powerbeats Pro (latest firmware).

Connection Type: Bluetooth headphones, Wi-Fi, and LTE (tested all).

This did not work. Problem remains.

Tried these steps and it does not solve the problem.

Sure as s#it doesn’t.

Same issue for me. Started happening a month or so ago. Have rest both devices. Set watch back to factory settings. Uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify twice on watch (which is a pain because downloading songs freezes on the watch). And unpaired and repaired watch. It’s super annoying.

im on ios18.1 and watch os 10..6.1

Hey folks,

Thanks for the patience!

This should be fixed in the upcoming Spotify app version, so please make sure to keep your app up-to-date in order to not miss it.

Let us know how it goes.

‘Upcoming’ that’s just about as vague a timeline as I would expect. There was an update to Spotify this morning on my iPhone 15, iOS 18. Was that it?
