App keeps resetting my playlists

App keeps resetting my playlists

For a long time now, the spotify app on my iphone (4s but it was doing this before I upgrade on my old 4 as well) has been doing the most annoying thing. When I open the app, it resets my playlists to a previous state - its always the same one: it lists the playlists I had about a year ago, maybe even longer. It then takes about 5-10 minutes to realise that these are no longer my lists and reload the latest ones. Then it either remembers they were offline and load up as normal (which is fine, if a little slow) OR I have to redownload all my offline playlists from that time onwards. So, my really old lists are all downloaded as normal but any that I created or made offline since that time are always reloading.

I am what would probably be called a 'power user' in that I have several folders and playlists which regularly change as I file lists and create new ones. Its very frustrating to have to power up the app 10 or 20 minutes before I want to use it. Sometimes I have to do this a couple times a day if I close the app while I'm at work.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution or are Spotify aware of the problem at least? I am a huge fan of the service and I deleted most of my music when I went paid so it's a shame that this keeps happening to me!

I'm having an almost identical problem.

Frequently I'll find that when I open spotify it will only show the playlists added before a certain date and all the newer playlists I've added aren't there.

Eventually it loads the slots where the new playlists should be but takes a longtime to figure out what those playlists are and what's in them so just displays the title "loading..." and leaves them empty.

Usually this will eventually resolve itself but today it's just refusing to acknowledge any newer playlists.

It's always the same old ones that it shows.

Hi,

I recently bit the bullet and reinstalled the Spotify app onto my phone - I didn't think it would make much difference as obviously I had transferred all my data from my old phone to the new but my app stopped working all together so I didn't have much choice. Plus, sometimes when you use itunes to set up a new phone, it transfers all the bugs with your data so its not quite like a reinstall.

Anyway, the app is now running a LOT better. I haven't had the resetting problem for the past few days and the playlists are loading much faster (tho they do sometimes take a few minutes - probably just because I have so many).

It was a MASSIVE pain to redownload all my offline playlists but it seems (fingers crossed) to have worked. Might work for you too?
