My Question or Issue
I do not stay logged in on the Apple TV app. Almost every time I use the app (it may stay logged in for a few hours), it asks me to log in and gives me a pairing code.
Solved! Go to Solution.
This is also happening to me. Simply doesn’t stay logged in longer than a few days.
tvOS 15.4.1 (19L452) on 32GB apple TV 4K (A1842)
will try the log out everywhere …
+1 followed the recommendations & steps -> not fixed
Hey @Ems23-88,
Thanks for posting.
We'd need some device setup information, so we can relay it to our tech team. Could you tell us the Spotify version you're using and the version of the operating system on your device?
We'll be on the look for your reply,
Cheers!
2022.05.11_4-2beede1, you want the whole build nr?
AppleTV 4K tvOS 15.5
bump. the same issue. asks me to log in with an activation code every single time I open the app on Apple TV. ridiculous.
Thank you for your replies in this thread.
@FredriX, would you mind providing us your Spotify version as this is important info for the team that's looking into this.
@gjm1980 - can you confirm if you tried all of the troubleshooting steps that's been provided in this thread?
If you did and the issue persists, do you mind providing the following info:
We'll keep an eye out for your replies.
Have a great Friday and continued weekend 🙂
Just so nothing is vague, as the OP I want to ensure I answered everything.
* I did try Log Out Everywhere, didn't seem to help.
* I'm running latest TvOS software.
* I did factory reset of Apple TV. I uninstalled and reinstalled.
* This does not happen with any other app, other than maybe Hulu every few months or so.
Hi, 2022.05.11_4-2beede1 as per my post. There is more numbers inte build nr though of you need them.
I've had this problem consistently for almost 2 years - if you don't open the app for a few days you have to go to spotify.com/pair on another device to log back in again. No amount of deleting and reinstalling, logging in and out updating the app makes any difference.Latest Spotify version 2022.05.11_4-2beede1 on TVOS 14.3 still has the issue.
I've just come to accept this is how Spotify on Apple TV is, so rarely use it anymore. Crazy it's not fixed when no other apps have this problem... come on Spotify - sort your shizzle out!
Same here, please fix it!!
Hey @lindhor,
Thanks for posting on the Community and welcome.
In order to check this further, could you send us the model, tvOS version and Spotify version installed on your device?
We'll be passing this info to the right team in order to check it further.
For everyone else, if you're missing some of these details, feel free to add them here in the thread (this is very important to us).
We'll be holding up.
Apple TV 4K - tvOS 15.4.1 - spotify latest as of 5/22/22
I have the same problem, extremely frustrating, feeling like it’s time to reevaluate my Spotify subscription
I have the same problem
same problem. it's unusable.
Same problem!
Hey @Cicknave,
Thanks for reaching about this in the Community and welcome.
If you're having this issue, send us the device info requested on my last reply on this thread in order to send it to the right folks who are looking into it.
Remember we'll be here looking for your reply.
I'm honestly amazed this issue is still happening, it makes me want to give up on Spotify and switch to Apple Music.
tvOS: 16 (has been happening on 15+)
Apple TV 4K (2021)
Spotivy version: 1.32.8
Already tried troubleshooting steps, didn't make a difference.
I also have this problem. It's making me debate cancelling my premium account entirely. This issue is specific to my Apple TV (gen 4) in the US. I usually use Alexa/Amazon speakers but they have a habit of not playing on multiple speakers at once. There's nothing more annoying that struggling with Spotify on one platform and then struggling with it on ANOTHER too.
Regardless:
-This is a Spotify issue. It does not exist with other apps on this device.
-The issue persists even after reseting the hardware.
-The issue persists even after redownloading the software.
-The issue persists even after rebooting the router.
-The issue persists even after doing all of the above concurrently.
Spotify needs to flag this issue and fix the app. The problem is with the app. These moderator responses aren't addressing THIS issue and are just arbitrary solves for wonky issues. Clearly, the widespread userbase having this issue shows that the issue is WITHIN THE SPOTIFY APP's CODE and needs a patch.
Generally I love Spotify but this is so obnoxious that it makes the services not worth paying for. Reading this thread makes it look like Spotify isn't taking this issue seriously. Please reply that this is being looked into by people who actually code.
Thank you.
This forum won't even let me reply to my own post without constantly reloading the page... Oof.
Regardless, please note that this issue persists while my Apple TV is fully updated and has 'Automatically Update' set to ON.
