Playback randomly stops

Device: iPhone 15 Pro, Airpods Pro 2

Operating System: iOS 18.3 (iPhone)

My Question or Issue

When I'm listening to Spotify using my airpods, I will experience an issue where the playback (music/podcast) will randomly pause (it happens maybe once every 20 minutes). When I swipe down to restart the playback using my control center, I no longer see Spotify being actively played and I need to navigate back to the app in order to restart what I'm listening to. 

I have tried to restart/disconnect and reconnect all devices, but that hasn't fixed the issue. I don't experience this issue with the same airpods connected to a laptop, and I don't have any issues if I'm listening without headphones using the same phone, so I suspect it's an issue with the connection.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

Kudos for that initial troubleshooting. We'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall by following these steps, to be sure the app is up-to-date, and the stored cache isn't leading to the app continuously stopping the playback when you're using your AirPods.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

• The exact Spotify version you're running on the affected device.
• Does this happen if you connect a different Bluetooth device to your iPhone such as a Speaker or other headphones?
• Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update?
