Spotify on my AppleTV constantly pauses for a few seconds in every song, whether I'm streaming over Airplay or playing from the AppleTV app directly. Wondering if anyone else has this issue and knows how to fix it—rebooting my AppleTV didn't work, my internet is (currently) fine, and I don't have issues with any other streaming app.
Hi,
My last post with a video, didn't post.
So here you can see what happens.

Song can work fine for some songs, and then suddenly start to do this for serveral song, for then again work fine some songs. This is my experience of this.
Hey @Sandemann01,
Thanks for the reply.
Could you upload the video to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link here? Due to security reasons we're unable to open files from Dropbox.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
Hi,
You can find it here in Google Drive:

Discussing with my wife, with no knowledge of the Spotify codebase it seems that there is possibly a DNS issue causing a timeout of a particular function at the end of the song resulting in this skip. Not that there really is any reason this should be the case, but the given evidence points that way.
I decided to change the DNS settings on the AppleTV itself to 8.8.8.8 instead of using my router/isp for DNS.
Upon returning to the Spotify app, the skipping appears to have disappeared.
I should say, though, that the issues has always been episodic for me. When it happens, it happens a repeatedly, but then in a different listening session the issues isn't present, with no intentional intervention on my part.
Hey there folks,
@Sandemann01, we appreciate the video, but we were not able to open it again because it's not accessible, so we couldn't get a better understanding of what you are experiencing. On another note, would you mind changing your DNS settings like @nightauthor did? It seems like this fixed the issue for them, so it's worth trying this as well.
@nightauthor We're glad to know it was sorted out for you. We hope that this won't be an episodic issue for you anymore!
Let us know how things work out!
@lyubka, I see that it was some issues with permissions, and it should be fixed now:

I will test changing DNS on my Apple TV, even though, this is strange to have to do 🙂
Thanks, @nightauthor 🙂
It seems to work setting another DNS address in Apple TV:)
Hey @Sandemann01,
Thanks for getting back to us.
We're happy to hear that this solution has worked for you 🙂
Let us know if there's anything else.
Fantastic!!! The DNS 8.8.8.8 works. Amazing thank you
This is not fixed as of 3/2024.
I bought a new Apple TV 4K+ yesterday. Everything else worked properly but Spotify had the following problem: When playing a song, the progress bar counted up to 10 seconds, but no sound, then it would skip to the next song. This repeated indefinitely,
Changing the Apple TV DNS from 75.75.75.75 to 8.8.8.8 fixed the problem. This is a workaround, not a fix.
I noticed that the people on this thread that mentioned their DNS said it was 75.75.75.75. What this means is that they are using Comcast/Xfinity as their internet service provider. This should be a major clue for the developers to get this fixed.
Your experience was much worse than the others described in here, but it’s interesting that the solution was the same.
I wasn’t using Comcast/Xfinity when I had the issue, but I can’t say what the DNS used was.
Hi - It's not surprising that the problem isn't confined to xfinity, but a developer troubleshooting this needs a consistent way to reproduce the problem, and it's possible (if not likely) that restricting the investigation to Comcast will provide this consistency.
Most likely it's something to do with a protocol that's not handled properly (or Spotify isn't sending properly) to the user's cable modem - probably only with certain modems.
DNS change didn't work for me.
I've tried all of the options as mentioned since the first post, but none of them work for me.
DNS change helped for me, but as said by @jkaplan this is a workaround not a fix.
When I set it back to automatic then the problem is back.
When I use Spotify on my iPhone and airplay it to the AppleTV I don't have any issues, so it seems to be an issie with the Spotify app.
AppleTV model A2737
TvOS version 17.4 (21L227)
Spotify version 1.44.1
Hope they can fix this with a Spotify app-update...
For me restart APPLE TV helped.
Go to Settings - System - Restart
