Begging for ratings breaks the UX and is distasteful

Solved!

Begging for ratings breaks the UX and is distasteful

I have the paid plan and use it mostly on my iPhone.  How do I tell it to never, ever popup that damn begggar screen asking me to rate the application ?   Begging for ratings is incredibly distasteful, and it literally *breaks the ux*; users can't use the app until they clear that popup.

Current iOs on iphone 12 pro max, paid plan.

Hey @StopNaggingMe, thanks for posting here!

That doesn't sound right. Let's get this fixed! Could you head to: 'Settings > App Store' and turn off: 'In-App Ratings & Reviews'? That should help here. Let me know how you get on!

Thanks, have a good one,

Hubo

Thank you Hubo - I was completely unaware that this was something facilitated and controlled by the OS.

I would suggest that Spotify should immediately considering abandoning use of this feature, or implementing it in a way that doesn't require someone to close that beg screen before they can continue using the application - perhaps having it close itself should they click anywhere else in the app, so they can continue using the app as normal.

Hey @StopNaggingMe,

Thanks for getting back to us 🙂

We always strive to improve the experience with our app and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us.

You can also have a look in our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can give these steps and submit your idea. That way other users can also support it. Rest assured that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.

Here you can find more information about how your feedback reaches Spotify.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We'll be happy to help.
