Can’t add song to playlist

Can’t add song to playlist

I have 2 accounts.  The one I use does not seem to let me add songs from some Spotify playlists to mine.  It lists 2 songs and then “and more” but you can’t expand the list to see what songs are in it.

However, when I sign in under my other account and view the exact same playlist I get full functionality……can see all songs and can add them to my playlist.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

 

If you're using free accounts and one of them is just recently made, this would explain why you're seeing these differences.

 

The Spotify free account, allows you to play playlists and albums in shuffle mode, and it's not possible to play individual songs on demand (Except on special Pick and Play playlists like your Discovery Weekly, Daily Mix, and Release Radar playlists.) This is why you can't pick individual tracks and add it to a custom playlist, as the Preview function was recently deprecated. You can learn more about this change here

 

If the other account is newer, it has about a week in which the app will allow you test out Premium features, like on-demand play of songs and playing full albums.
