My Question or Issue

I just bought a new apple watch SE the other day. The watch and my phone are completely up to date and so is the spotify app. For some reason, on my watch, the app does not show "Downlaods" as an option. I ca only see playlists, albums, and artists and every time i click on them it just says "loading" and never loads. I've tried everything. Re-pairing, re-downloading, updating, deleting the app and trying again, etc. WHen I go to the app on my phone, I can see "Download to Apple Watch" but cant locate it on the spotify app on my watch. Any advice?

Hey @jillianwhite,

Thanks for the post!

The Download section should be visible on your watch in just under Your Library

If you're not seeing that, we'd recommend running a factory reset on the watch and after that updating to the latest available OS version (6.0 and higher).

You should also run a clean reinstall on your phone, following this Guide

When that is done, try selecting the Download to Apple Watch on a playlist again (Make sure that the playlist has 50 songs or less).

If the Downloads option is still not visible on the watch, make sere that:

  • The phone and the watch are on the same network
  • Bluetooth is active and both devices are close to each other
  • Try connecting the watch to the charger

Keep us posted on how you get on with this.

I had the exact same issue and the steps for the clean reinstall (https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/How-can-I-perform-a-clean-reinstall-of-the-app/ta-p/4746485) worked for me.

Spotify’s solution for every problem (no matter how many times it happens ) is a clean reinstall. Never mind how many times we - their EXTREMELY patient user base - have to redownload all of our playlists offline. What an absolute joke of an app and an absolute joke of a support process which hasn’t fixed or improved anything since the offline feature first debuted years ago.
